Re: From DC to Kentucky by car - looking for advice

Thank you. I will check all those options. Still open to suggestions. Maybe some nice places in West Virginia ? Depending on the budget, check out The Greenbrier... a world class resort in White Sulphur Springs WV. Golf, tennis, shooting, spa, etc As previously mentioned, the Sheanendoah Valley off...

From DC to Kentucky by car - looking for advice

Hello phriends, for our next Summer vacation we are planning a trip from Washington DC to Lexington Kentucky. We would spent around 3 days in DC and then will have about a week to get to Lexington. I am looking for advice on where to stay during our drive there. Any resorts, hotels that you would re...

Who is Jack Schitt??

This might have been posted before but I found it funny so : Who is Jack Schitt?? For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don’t know Jack Schitt." Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an int...

Re: Jimmy playing a song

This must have been at the US embassy in Paris, I think on the 23rd Sep. I was told he was gonna play there in support of the troops so it might have been broadcast to the troops around the world. He might have also played a small concert at an American library in Paris in the days before the concer...

Ah the French

France's ex-justice minister Rachida Dati mixed up the words "fellatio" and "inflation" - which sound similar in French - during a TV interview. She told Canal Plus: "I see some [foreign investment funds] looking for returns of 20 or 25% at a time when fellatio is close to z...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

Man, I feel really sorry for you. You basically have thrown away a return ticket to Paris. Don't forget to cancel the ticket that you will not be using as at least you should get the taxes back (not the airfare unfortunately) Not that it makes you feel better but the system is the same with the chan...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

Peterb, you're not the guy from last year wearing the Netherlands orange jersey with BUFFETT on the back are you?! We met such a character in O'Sullivans after the show. That's me ! Despite the football loss I will be wearing the same jersey again this year. Hopefully the weather and party will be ...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

Just a query on where the AFTER show festivities are taking place.O'Sullivans has been mentioned by a few people but I just want to point out that there are several places in this chain in Paris. The one we were in last year after La Cigale was O'Sullivans By The Mill on Boulevard de Clichy.However,...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

I just don't get it. If last year they were handing out the will call tickets to avoid a crush on the window next day, how come that again this year they only open 1 hour before the show ? It makes no sense to me. I will sent them the mail, if they respond I am happy if not it won't spoil my day. Se...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

Peter My view of the situation is very different to yours: The queue was not to collect your tickets but to ensure a good standing location on the floor. Once the booth opened for ticket collection a very seperate queue formed in an orderly manner to pick up tickets. I agree the day is best be spen...

Re: Who's going to Paris 09/24/10?

Hi I was thinking about sending the following email to info@GDP.fr to see if they can open ticket collection earlier. I cannot find the email adress of the Olympia. Let me know what you think. It might help if many of us sent the same or similar email. It would also help if any of you know if Jimmy'...
