Re: Dylan cites Buffett as one of his favorite songwriters
A few years ago Neil Young said in an interview that "No one song can change the world. But that doesn't mean its time to stop singing." Read any interview with Bob Dylan and he says pretty much the same thing. What their music (and the music of many others) did was increase awareness but ...

Re: Dylan cites Buffett as one of his favorite songwriters
The songs Dylan refers to in that interview are from Buffett's ABC/Dunhill era. Lord knows what he would think of some of his latter day material, which is actually few and far between since Buffett rarely pens his own songs anymore. As for Buffett recording what he wants to, I get the distinct imp...

Re: Dylan cites Buffett as one of his favorite songwriters
For those saying Dylan's never heard certain songs by Buffett that you think s***, the reality is anyone who has ever put a pen to paper and written anything has written crap at times. Even Dylan has written and recorded crappy songs as well as Hunter S Thompson (my favorite). There are very few art...

Re: For Christmas Birthday Boy Buffett, Who Needs Record Sales..
Guess I never thought of Buffett as a 1 or 2 hit wonder. According to the author he's an old rocker that's been touring for years and years based on '1 or 2 songs and a lifestyle'. Kinda of rough to see Jimmy's body of work summed up like that. He's certainly made millions on the lifestyle and marke...

Re: Crazy rumor about the Yum Center in Louisville
Looks like prices are 34.85 and 151.05 per Ticketmaster. This includes the service charges. I would really like to know where the cutoff is within the stadium between the cheap seats and overpriced ones.

Re: Crazy rumor about the Yum Center in Louisville
I guess that could be possible. I sure hope that's not the case because I'm dying to go. I also can't imagine what Louisville corporation would do that. Yum is big but doesn't have a huge corporate office and mainly involves itself in UL athletics. Of course there is Humana, Ford, Brown Forman and U...

Crazy rumor about the Yum Center in Louisville
I've heard from 2 different unrelated sources that have connections with the Yum Center in Louisville that Jimmy will be playing there March 3rd. This seems crazy to me considering the history he has in Cincy and Indy. Why would he play in Louisville at a place like the Yum Center? There is nowhere ...

Re: How is Jimmy not in the Rock N Roll HOF?
I think that's where I'm confused. They are a lot of R&B artists in the RnR HOF so it seems like there isn't a clear definition of what RnR really is. For instance, Marvin Gaye is a legend but I don't think of him as a Rock n Roller. I think if you asked most people if Neil Diamond was a Rock n ...

How is Jimmy not in the Rock N Roll HOF?
This year's class includes Tom Waits, Dr John and Neil Diamond. How is Jimmy not in there? I'm not a musical expert but it seems like Jimmy has had a very successive musical career that's spanned enough decades and genres to be include in the HOF. Has he ever even been part of the nomination process...

Re: Jimmy Buffett on Anderson Cooper?
Well, tonight's show is now over. I'm obviously a huge Jimmy fan or I wouldn't be here but I love his passion about that area and his willingness to call BP out for the liars that they are. I think now what angers me the most is the governments handling of this because they are so in bed with Big oi...

Re: Jimmy Buffett on Anderson Cooper?
Jimmy isn't on yet but so far this is very depressing. Our government and BP are apparently spending much more effort to cover their arses than fix the problem. Between that and red tape, this looks like it will be the most inefficient cleanup in the history of oil spills. Please Jimmy, fight the fi...

Re: Gulf Coast Concert, no real relief for the Gulf.
As a huge Apple fan, I would like to see them step up and make the performance available on ITunes similar to what they've done during other charity performances. A CD/DVD is a great idea but ITunes moves music big time and they are a great avenue to move these performances and raise a boatload of m...

Re: Gulf Coast Show--is this Jimmy's biggest event ever?
I'm not sure if this is his biggest show but this is the first time I remember him taking a leadership role musically and heading something on his own. I'm probably wrong but other artists like Willie Nelson have done Farm Aid and made it their own. Buffett now has the opportunity to be leader and e...

Re: Memorial Day Concert Marathon
An idea that I had lately and would like to see is RM devote whole weekends to concerts from particular eras. Like a 70s weekend with nothing but shows from the 70s including some of the great radio shows he did. Or on Memorial Day weekend they could do the 70s on Sat, 80s on Sun and then the 90s to...

Re: Radio Margaritaville Version 2.0
I love your ideas. I listen to a lot of Kenny Chesney's No Shoes Radio network and he has a lot of live stuff from him as well as other great artists like Steve Miller doing not only their songs but songs they like. It's like they are sitting on the bus or around a bar just playing around. I would l...

The cowboy hats I saw looked like something a girl should be wearing even though they were in the guys section. Not something most guys I know would like to be seen in. The baseball caps are cool though.

Thanks for the heads up! I scored a shirt, hat and orange trunks at the Wallyworld in Clarksville, IN all for $25. Not bad at all even though I loathe Wallyworld. Jimmy needs to start doing business with Target at the very least.

My guess is that Firefox/Chrome have ad blocking enabled that is blocking that banner. I use Firefox and thankfully it has Adblock plus but I can't remember if that was an add-on or not. On most sites, the banners are annoying and add no value. You might check under Tools and see in the options if F...
