Re: Cowboys fire defensive coordinator.
It's either (hopefully) that or (more likely) something Wade did under pressure to save his own butt.

Cowboys fire defensive coordinator.
Probably a good move, but four thoughts on it: 1. Doesn't this put the lie to Jerry's assertion that "our coaching staff is in place"? 2. Didn't Jerry fire the wrong coordinator (meaning he should've fired Jason Garrett instead, since the offense sucked worse than the defense this year)? 3...

Since, with all due respect, I take the election and inauguration of Barack Obama as a negative for our country, I won't do anything to celebrate.

Re: Cowboys to cut TZero??
Even though Jimmy's 66 now, I wish Jerry would hire him back. And yes, Jerry deserves credit as an OWNER, but not as a GENERAL MANAGER. As an owner he's great -- he wants to win and he doesn't mind spending. But as a GM he's the worst in the league. What other team would NOT fire the GM after 12 str...

Re: Cowboys to cut TZero??
Jerry has three Super Bowls? Please -- those were Jimmy Johnson's teams. How well did Jerry draft after Jimmy left and before Bill Parcells came along? Horribly, that's how. Jerry was even dumb enough to FIRE JIMMY because he wanted to do things HIS way and get credit for winning. News flash to Jerr...

Re: Slingin' Sammy Bradford still a Sooner!
Sorry, but Slingin' Sammy has a superb arm -- he can make all the throws, according to every NFL person I've heard speak of him.Lightning Bolt wrote:mark my words...

Slingin' Sammy Bradford still a Sooner!
Speaking just for Bradford's future, I think this is a wise move. If he had come out this year, yes, he'd've been a high pick and gotten millions. But would he have been ready to play if forced to start for the Lions, etc.? By sticking around another year he gains more valuable experience and maturi...

Re: BCS = "Beat Coach Stoops"
Having blasted Stoops for losing the title game(s), I'll now say how lucky OU is to have him. One need only look back at how this program fared in the 1990s to know that Stoops saved the day in Sooner Nation.

Big Game Bob, my ass. Pathetic.
Bring back Barry! Hell, if JoePa can coach till he's 90 surely Barry can do it till he's 80.
Yes, I'm venting.

In case anyone else wondered what LP was singing about in "Nessun Dorma", h'yar 'tis: Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, o, Principessa, nella tua fredda stanza, guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore e di speranza. Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me, il nome mio nessun saprà! No, no, sulla ...

Not entirely. If a new head coaching job pays Shanahan less than his Broncos' contract calls for, Denver has to make up the difference.SharkOnLand wrote:Bowlen's obligation would end if Shanahan were to find another coaching job, as I understand it.bestseller92 wrote:Shanahan is still being paid by Pat Bowlen.

Re: Pavarotti.
It's interesting listening to Pavarotti's versions of "O Solo Mio" and "Torna a Surriento", the songs that were the Italian precursors of Elvis' 1960s hits "It's Now or Never" and "Surrender". Lots of folks don't know that Elvis was a big opera fan, specifical...

Pavarotti.
I got my first Pavarotti CD's pretty much be mistake Friday, from a record club -- they were the "featured selection" and I forgot to send back the card. But I'll probably keep 'em -- I'm not really an opera guy (at all) but Pavarotti is interesting, and I just might grow to like the old I...

The Thompson/Center Contender is one cool gun, though some of the calibers they make the barrels in...well, I have no desire to lose an arm to recoil
