Re: We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
It is so hard to chill out in the face of ignorance on the level expressed here. Being a parrotthead must mean you like to drink tequila and buy Jimmy's latest official t-shirt, but not have sense of adventure or understanding of the world, We will not be posting on this board again. We will leave t...

Re: We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
i got a really bad sunburn once in florida...... i'm not going back LOL!!! Ya Know BigR we have always figured you can be satisfied just listening to Jimmy sing about Margaritaville...or you can go looking for it. We have looked in Hawaii, Jamaica, Key West, New Orleans, The British Virgin Islands,...

Re: We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
Well... there are people whose sense of exploration is satisfied by a Buffett concert and a cruise and there are those who like life a little more on the adventuresome side. Tony got food poisoning at a KFC in Orlando, and Cheri got it Hawaii. It sometimes happens when you travel. Sometimes its bact...

Re: We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
There are other places more interesting than Mexico, sorry been there not going back Of course everybody has different preferences for where they want to travel to...and those differences make the world spin. But IOHO saying you have been to Mexico once and found no need to return is like saying yo...

My son & his wife will be working in Playa from May 31 to June 24 and August 18 to November 9: I'm hoping to get there for a visit. Do you hear that, Jimmy Buffett? I'll be sure to visit the Luna Blue ! If you are going to visit , make sure it is on a night when Jimmy is in Concert somewhere. W...

Re: We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
The setlist database says Jimmy played in Cozumel last year. If he did (and we would be surprised since we are huge Buffett fans and heard nothing about it) it still don't count! Flying in for a unadvertised gig for an hour isn't what we are hoping for. We want Jimmy to to a big splash for this par...

We are boycotting Jimmy Buffett...
…but not really. We love Jimmy. His music and books helped to inspire us to run away to the tropics and end up here in Mexico by the Caribbean Sea. But things have taken a turn for the worst down here. Bad press about drug wars (which are thousands of miles away from here) and the swine flu (which n...

Ahhh...Nawlins. We go several times a year, and just last week returned from celebrating Tony's 60 th birthday at Antoines. here is a list of some of our time honored favorites: 1. We prefer Felix's over the Acme for Oysters. 2. Johnny's Poboys on St. Louis near Decatur for either shrimp or fried Oy...

Re: Gratuitous Tropical Picture Thread
Living down here on Mexico's Caribbean Coast we get lots of opportunities for beautiful tropical vistas and views. Here are a few of our favorites: http://www.lunabluehotel.com/videos/buffett1.jpg A classic shot on the beach in Playa del Carmen http://www.lunabluehotel.com/videos/buffett2.jpg Overlo...

Re: Hawaii
We really like Maui. Lush tropical forests; Deserted black sand beaches: Molokini for snorkeling; Lahaina for a laid back "margaritaville" feeling; the unbelievably beautiful waterfall vista filled road to Hana (and the seven pools)...but most of all if you go to Maui do the bike ride down...

Re: Cancun, Mexico in December
Cancun is the largest city of the Riviera Maya Resort area that stretches the length of Mexico’s Caribbean coast. It is spring break heaven with high rise hotels and plenty of American Fast Food Chain restaurants. There is a nightlife aimed at the foam party bikini contest crowd. Also on the Riveier...

Re: Margaritaville in Negril
You guys are in the real margaritaville area if there ever was one. Some of the dives I went to in Akumal and Tulum certainly were the "Margaritaville" of my dreams. Very true, sonofabeach. Of all the outposts of margaritaville we have visited in the Caribbean and Mexico our all time favo...

Re: Margaritaville in Negril
Here is our take on the Negril Margaritaville: First, we love Margartitavilles. Our favorite is the one in the French Quarter where we saw Jimmy on stage a few years back. Great place. And the original in Key West is always a stopping point when we visit there. But for us, one of the fun things abou...

Christmas in the Caribbean
Every year we put together a Holiday playlist for our bar's ipod. Of course we put Jimmy's and Kenny's Christmas CDs on it. But we are looking for some new tunes this year. Any favorite Christmas songs with a margaritaville, reggae, caribbean, south of the border sound that we should include? ~ Tony...

Re: The Ultimate, I mean Ultimate Beach
Tulum has our favorite beach in all the world...the Playa El Paraiso (Paradise Beach). Just south of the ruins it has a funky little beach bar with ok burgers (who goes to the beach for the food anyway?). Beds, chairs, loungers stretched over white sand in front of clear blue water. The atmosphere i...

Re: Margaritaville Has Been Found, According To This
Margaritaville in PV!? We have to respectfully disagree. Margaritaville requires that deep beautiful blue water found in the Caribbean. Exhibit A: http://playazone.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words/ OH...and rum. Margaritaville requires lots of Caribbean Rum. :D IOH...

I Wish Lunch Would Last Forever
It's a quiet down here in Mexico tonight. I have night desk duty, listening to a little Buffett..."I Wish Lunch Would Last Forever"...and I started daydreaming about favorite "forever" lunch places. For a lunch to last forever it has to have booze, preferably starting with (and e...
