Does anyone know how much room they are allowing for tailgating if you don't buy the extra $60 spot?

On the FB page someone said they called Toyota and they said you don't need to buy the $60 ticket to tailgate, did anyone else call to see? I just did, but they are closed.

After 15 years of seeing him all over Chicago (including a HOB Cub Charity show once), I am making it to Alpine. We may not get up there until 4-5pm. Does everyone recommend the $33 parking you can buy online or just wing it?
