Re: Bitter Fans?
Bitter? Nah. Twisted? Definitely. I met one bitter fella though. He was playing at the Schooner Wharf in Key West, whined about JB doesn't live there and is just trading on the name, he went on to say that he had been playing in KW for 30 years... Seemed kinda bitter that JB is making sqillions and ...

Re: Coconut Telegraph
At the risk of upsetting Auntie, I would like to point out that if the Mr Lehmann in question has been at the Coconut Telegraph "since the beginning" then I would imagine he is the Editor or similar. It is not unusual for Editors to not use a byline. I gather it goes back to the days when ...

Re: Florida's West Coast where should I go?
So, just thinking out loud here, but: The island (well cay) that Key West resides on runs roughly east/west. Old Towne is on the western side of the island and fronts the Gulf of Mexico. It is also part of Florida (although some would beg to differ). Thus, Old Towne Key West is on the West Coast of ...

Having worked in the cattle game, here in Oz (including a stint on the grates at an abattoir) I did no want to weigh in on this topic, but what the hey... First up, I thought it was a bit rude of ClayP to start off with a SPAM, but since he/she has at least come back to defend the posted position, i...

Re: Post Game Lexington, KY Police Scanner
So a school beats another school at a sport of some description, and this causes a riot (of sorts). Brain dead people then drag their furniture into the street and burn it? Wow, sounds all a bit third world to me. A $14 trillion government deficit, a presidential candidate race that appears it is mo...

Re: Lounging at the Lagoon
I have a couple of favourites: Chuuk Lagoon in Micronesia (For some reason it is also known as Truk Lagoon). http://www.visit-fsm.org/chuuk/ A large tropical lagoon with a multitude of palm fringed islands and almost 100 WWII ship and plane wrecks... To a dedicated rust diver like myself it is a sli...

Yet Another Black Beans Thread
G'day All, Late last year the Mrs & I made our pilgrimage to Cayo Hueso. Now down on, I think, Wall St - right near Mallory Square is an arcade with a Cuban Theme. The restaurant in the arcade served some really fine food - well to our Aussie palettes it was fantastic, to a Cuban, who knows? :) ...

You guys are missing out on so much fun. I like to talk to them, especially the one "I'm from Windows Maintenance Department". Play the game, give them false information (of course) but never give them anything that may be even close to a credit card number, they can and do try and chase w...

Re: Jimmy's guitar
The guitar in the first image certainly is not new. If you look at the fret board under strings 1 & 2 between to 6th and 10th frets you will see that the thing has seen its fair share of work. (as it should be for a '69 Tele). Looking at the frets overall they look quite tall so may have been re...

Re: I need help with black beans...
MSG has a undeserved reputation. MSG is a salt formed with Glutamic Acid. Your body creates Glutamic Acid, it also very quickly breaks down MSG into Glutamic Acid and sodium. Glutamic Acid is used to breakdown proteins and is needed for you to live. There is little physiological evidence for MSG bei...

Re: I need help with black beans...
the organic black beans normally have less sodium. also you can drain the beans and soak them in cold water to remove additional salt. If you like peppers I have a Cuban Black Bean recipe that uses no salt and is delicious, that I can send to you. Please Please Please!!! SWMBO had some in KW and is...
