Re: Soggy THURSDAY@ the MSC

Did I say 4" of rain, they're now saying 6" each day.

We are definitely on the verge of a flood event. And we live on the top of a hill...

Four inches of rain yesterday, four more forecast for each of today and tomorrow. With heavy rain that "may result in life-threatening flash flooding" :o The amount of heavy rain so far has overwhelmed guttering and drainage on the properties all around us, and because of the lay of the la...

Re: Ides of March MONDAY@ the Msc

My sexist dad theorized about brush fires in the spring. "women clean out the house, light a burn pile and go to the mall." As we used to say - there are only three sources of ignition for a bushfire: Men; Women; and Children. It is amazing that if you chart bushfire incidents against sch...

Re: Ides of March MONDAY@ the Msc

Wet, wet, wet. They're still forecasting an inch and more of rain every day for the next week, which is the same forecast as last week. The water table must be up, right? Forest fires won't be a problem like last year I assume. It depends on what happens during winter and spring. We are just headin...

<snip.> I doubt that the band needs much time to get up to speed. What do they do normally, 4 or 5 days of rehearsals? <snip> While this may be true with regards to playing the songs. Performing the songs is a very different matter. As some may know I have worked as a roadie on and off for more yea...

Re: Spring Ahead SUNDAY@ the MSC

Language is a curious thing. Over the last few days there have been a few examples of the "separation by a common language" scenarios here on BN. A day or two ago there was a picture of a bacon filled bread roll from Wendy's with the curious title of "Bacon Sandwich". Here in Oz ...

Morning All,

Well we broke our run of 55 days without a community based Covid case. A worker in a quarantine hotel has been diagnosed.

The thing is, as a quarantine worker he has already been vaccinated... Oopsy.

Strangely the gubbernmint and the press aren't too keen to talk about that aspect.

Re: Saturday (Not Friday) the 13th @ the MSC

We've got a couple of weeks until Daylight Savings finishes. Just before it started I had purchased a new bedside alarm clock radio - a fancy smancy job with DAB+ radio and the like. Apparently it actually gets it's time from the digital radio signal, so when daylight savings started I was at ...

Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC

Have you guys found a place to move to? Sadly, no. Australia is in the grip of a housing bubble - people are buying at well over the market, site unseen. Consequently if you aren't right there on the day things are listed you have no chance. 75% of properties listed for auction sell before auction ...

That is because you tried to kill him a few years ago with that slippery stage. I heard it was a trap door. Look, he wanted to crowd surf in a venue where there is a gap between stage and mosh pit, he just needed to jump a bit further :) I mean we even had the country's leading trauma doctor ...

Re: FINALLY FRIDAY @ THE MSC

Arrrrgh. (Not in a pirate voice but an exasperated voice) I am so over this dreary wet weather and I am over official weather forecasters who, clearly, do not have any windows in their buildings. The forecasts for the past two weeks have been for one to two inches of rain every day, yet we've only h...

I have bought it as well, only I am in Australia and we only get a gig every 22.5 years so I suppose we don't count.

Although we ARE relatively covid free, so come on down Jimmy and the gang!

You still have the great team.
The thing is with these types of changes, is how long will the new boss keep the team together?

Re: Feet of snow coming Thursday @ the MSC

Ain't it always the way?

A few months ago I was forced to find a new team to work for. I moved under a new boss and into a great little team.

Today they announced that the boss is being moved onto a big project which is in trouble.

So now we need to break in a new boss.

It's on the mend, although it is quite achy today.

Thanks for asking :)

Re: Twelve Volt TUESDAY@ the MSC

Good morning BN. 70's and sunny again. I need to figure a way to get my new boat motor from the garage to the boat, it's 115 pounds and too heavy for to me to get it to the boat and swapped out with the old motor. The boat is in the water making it difficult without a couple of young weight lifters...
