Re: Martin LX Jimmy Buffett guitar

My first electric was a Sears Silvertone, got it in high school back in the 60's and played it in my first band. I can't remember what happened to it, never dreamed it would be worth much. Yeah, even at $650-$700, that's not bad for an original investment of about $60 from the Sears catalog, even w...

Re: Martin LX Jimmy Buffett guitar

Modification can definitely affect the pricing but you also have to remember that when tough economic times roll around, sometimes "collector" value can take a hit...folks might just not have as much disposable cash around right now. We have a family heirloom 1960s era Sears Silvertone ele...

Re: Jimmy to guest star on Hawaii 5-0

Hollywood does tend to take many liberties with the details. After 40 years in aviation I notice the small things. Good luck with your son's flying lessons. Something to note, one can't grow up and be a pilot, can't have it both ways. LOL Thanks, I'll pass that on to him...I'm thinking the sa...

Re: Jimmy to guest star on Hawaii 5-0

Enjoyed the flying, love that old Huey. And JB was flying from the wrong seat. You sound like my husband. He's spent most of the last 25 years employed at airports, mostly in line service, and when he was younger he had quite a few hours logged on his way to getting a pilot's license but ran...

Re: landshark lager

My opinion on LandShark is that it's not bad if the price is right...and for me the right price is free. 8) If someone buys me a beer, I don't complain. A polite thank you is all you will hear from me. However, if I'm buying, it usually comes down to either Smithwick's, Red Stripe or on the rare occ...

I have to say MOTM was pretty damn awesome this year too, but that could have something to do with being the very proud mom of the 10 year old who played at the Rum Barrel.  swfqHdJru8w We didn't make it to the street fest because I figured I wouldn't want to drag a kid into that crazine...

Re: Looking for Jimmy Buffett LE Martin LX Guitar ... Help!

Just get yourself a regular LX1 and paint some palm trees on it!  Seriously though, the Little Martin's are great, even if you don't get your hands on one of the LE Buffett ones, I'd suggest picking one up any way. Way better than the Martin Backpacker for a travel guitar and if you have...

It is totally worth getting the DVD just for the bonus material, in my opinion. Some of my favorite clips are actually in the "extras".

Re: Toll Pass for Florida

Thanks WW, I'm headind down to KW in Sept, catching the turnpike at the north end on I75. If you do the toll by plate thing the tolls are a little higher and there's a $2.50 service charge. you'd probably be better off with the prepaid sunpass, no service charge and the tolls are usually $0.25 less...
