Re: Toll Pass for Florida
Thanks Leslie..looking into it. I can't believe Budget is charging us 7/day! And just to help you with a quick price comparison here...last year when I drove down for MOTM, starting up here in Stuart (about 30 miles north of Palm Beach) and taking the Turnpike all the way down to Homestead cost $7....

Re: Toll Pass for Florida
So if I travel the FLA turnpike from one end to the other am I limited to the exits I can use? You can still use any exit you want. The deal with the electronic tolls is you don't have the option to pay in cash. From what I understand, if you roll through one of those and you don't have a transpond...

Re: Guy Clark: Songs & Stories Due 8.16.11.
If you love Guy Clark you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of Heartworn Highways. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heartworn_Highways It was a documentary made in the 70s with Guy, Townes, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell, and a ton of other amazing musicians. In the bonus features of the DVD you even ge...

Re: Toll Pass for Florida
only other suggestion....but much longer ism taking 95 to route 1 Much, much longer...depending on what time you hit Miami! Usually it takes 5-6 hours for me to drive to Key West but once I made the mistake of doing the 95 to US1 route and hit downtown Miami right around 5 PM on a Friday. That trip...

Re: It's All About The Girl
Has Scott seen this???? He's probably looking for performers at his new Smokin Tuna Saloon in KW (http://smokintunasaloon.com/). This could be the start of a promising career.....and remember who suggested it! I've always wanted to be a music manager......  Not only has Scott seen this...

I just got my copy of the book I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive in the mail and am looking forward to reading it! I'll second an earlier recommendation in this thread for the Heartworn Highways DVD. It has some great clips of a very young Steve Earle and just some all around great music from ...

He also likes to play this song for open mic night at a local tiki bar/restaurant and usually dedicates it to one of the cute bartenders or waitresses, so yes he has already figured out that boys with guitars get a lot of attention from the girls. 8) We are going to be in so much trouble in a few ye...

Thanks Barbara! I think he rocks too but my opinion is probably a little bit biased. The groom is a friend of ours that is a pretty awesome guitar player in his own right and graciously gave Fletcher lessons for free when he first started playing 2 years ago, so it was really special for Flet...

I'm not one of those "snooty" spirits tasters who can come up with all kinds of flowery sounding BS to describe the taste but I would call it Black Seal with the edges smoothed and a few more years of maturity. because maturity and liquor go hand in hand... :D You got me there! Ok,...

It's All About The Girl
I know there are a few Scott Kirby fans here so I thought ya'll might enjoy this.
My 10 year old son Fletcher played Scott's song It's All About The Girl at a friend's wedding reception yesterday. It was the perfect song for the occasion!

Thanks for the info.....as always! :pirate: Ever try Gosling's Gold Liqueur? Apparently it's very limited production and only available in Bermuda. I had some on my visit last June at a restaurant in Hamilton. OMG.....I may consider becoming a permanent resident of Bermuda just to get that stuff!!!...

Re: and the RUM is for all your good vices....
I do enjoy Gosling's Black Seal rum. Has anyone tried their Gold or Old Rum, by chance????? :pirate: I have tried both. The Gold is my least favorite of all the Gosling's products but that doesn't mean it's bad. It has a little spice but not really enough to be called a spiced rum and slight ...

I live about 20 miles north of there and used to commute down to Jupiter for work. The boss took us to lunch at The Crab House for the company Christmas party and it was really good! I have also heard good things about Schooners which is right there where you turn to get to the Square Grouper.

Get what you want, don't worry about what other people think.  I love old schooners and tall ships and knew that's what I wanted for my tattoo. The tattoo artist said it looked like something some guy going in the Navy would get and asked if I didn't want something more feminine like a h...

I love all the pretty boats in Key West. The lovely lady in my signature line is a picture I took of the Western Union. :wench: I always try to get out on one of the schooners when I am down there and especially love being there for Pirates in Paradise and the great sea battles they do. I can honest...

I buy Barritt's ginger beer by the case at a liquor store in Annapolis, MD: http://bayridgewine.com/ Annapolis is about 2 hours south of my home in southcentral PA. We took sailing lessons many years ago in Annapolis and my wife and I visit there often. Just a great town for walking around......lik...
