Since I continue to try to research this, it turns out I can rent a 2000W generator from Home Depot for $45 for a 24 hour period (Thursday AM to Friday AM).

Might be the best bet?

another thought. young ears, especially a 4 month old, injure easily. the loud music, people yelling loudly for what ever reason, could cause the keet a problem at some point. And we definitely *don't* want that. While initially sad to be away, it'll be good for us all and he'll enjoy the day with ...

Good points from everyone. I think he'll be staying home enjoying sesame street while we go to "adult sesame street."

See you there!

I used one at bristow (700W), but it did not work that well. All it did was really stir. I had to run the car when I used it because the battery did no run it alone. What brand did you get? I found a 700W unit yesterday at BJs (like a costco, sam's club, etc) for $45. Have to wire it directly to the...

the inductive load of a blender motor may be way too much for the inverter. That's my main concern. So far I have found the "average" blender to be between 300-500 watts and they roughly need 2-3x load to get started. So I figured a 1000 watt inverter with a 2000 watt peak load would do t...

I used one on a cross country trip in a UHaul that didn't have a tape deck to listen to Buffett on my stereo. It worked well except for a little buzzing. This was 8 years ago and the inverter was probably at least 10 years old at the time, so I'm sure with the new inverters you won't have any probl...

Making the Blender Go -- using a power inverter?

So in the quest to have frozen drinks, the first choice would clearly be a generator. I don't have one and it's not in the budget for this year (but it *will* be next year!). I saw some dc -> ac power inverters yesterday. $50 for 700 watts (should power a blender) and $90 for 1000 watts. They clip o...

Bringing a keet to the show @ GW

Hello phriends! This will be our third year at GW, but this year we were blessed with our first keet. The good news is that we have a reliable baby-sitter (she's related to us) to watch over our parrot-head-in-training (he _loves_ JB)... So now the debate is do we bring him with us allowing fun all ...

We checks the dates too... and have our fingers crossed.

Hadn't thought through the "what would AJ do?" -- but that would be a very cool twist!

Counting down the days (since I can't count that high for the hours ;))

Hello my new friends!

I'm poking around the house tonight... enjoying the show, enjoying the nascar race and spending some time with my keet.

We just got back from stocking up for GW next week!! Only a few more days ;)

I'll be lurking for a while... sounds like a good show tonight so far :)

Well, I just got done building the bar. now just need to coat the top and paint the base. We'll have the usual grille, cold ones, blenders, canopy, chairs, inflatable palm tree. Planning for jello shots, buffett virgin scavenger hunt (handouts) and, of course, music. I'm hoping to find a way to catc...

So what happened last night when Jimmy said something like "don't throw that s$#@ on the stage." and the crowd booed. It was near the end... Actually, wasn't the crowd booing when they were taking the tiki bar away!? yeah, but that happened earlier in the night and sounded "playful&q...

Going to try. Hopefully the RM feed will be a bit cleaner on Sat than yesterday. I'll post up if I am successful.
