Don't Stop The Carnival - Herman Wouk - really enjoyed that one and I got it for two bucks on half.com

To Have and Have Not - Hemingway - love this one. I've read it twice and I'll probably read it again in a few months

Good call! JB should have called JJW and they should have written and recorded a song or two together. I'm bracing myself for the most dissappointing album since BHOTM.

There's an email or post floating around somewhere with the "10 stages of being a Parrothead"- the burn out one is one of them. But I completely understand- my first Buffett CD was the boxed set, and I skip almost every single one of those songs every time I play the original CDs. I'd lik...

Anyone ever get "Buffett Burnout"?

Last year I attended six shows in ten months. Usually I have some down time (winter) when I don't listen to Jimmy as much, but I still haven't recovered from constant Jimmy yet. I still go to the concerts, still love the music (the older stuff), but only listen when it gets close to concert time or ...

Better show, Columbia, SC or Atlanta, GA?

Having attended both these shows I'm putting my vote in for Columbia. I liked Columbia's set list better, but the tailgating rocked in Atlanta. I enjoyed the Atlanta show, but it seemed to drag a bit for me. I also thought the Atlanta crowd wasn't into like they had been in previous years. Any thoug...

Glad you enjoyed it! Didn't think about calling them "vines". Anyway, I should be getting the Columbia 2004 show in the mail any day now. There are a lot of people asking for it so, as soon as I get it, I'll put it out there. I wonder if it would be possible to have some kind of request tr...

Why aren't Tape Trees more popular?

I really thought this was a great idea, but I think OldFriendTheSquid and myself were the only people to kind of get this going. What a great way to share your shows with your fellow parrotheads at little cost to you. The way I see it, tape trees balance themselves out money wise. In case you are wo...

A couple years ago I decided to fly the Maple Leaf next to the Stars and Stripes in anticipation of meeting Canadian Parrothead at Great Woods. I used very heavy cast iron patio umbrella stands for the bases (2" PVC fits nicely over 1 1/2" base receptor that is usually about a foot high)....

ok, I think I am going to go with five, four foot long pieces of PVC pipe. Three on one side, joined with connectors and two on the other. On one side I will display this http://wildwolf2.com/images/flag_jollyswords.jpg and between the two will be this http://www.geocities.com/MadisonAvenue/Boardroo...

Building a Flagpole for tailgating

I was thinking of building a flagpole this year so I can display my pirate flag and JB/Corona ticket banner. I was thinking of using just some PVC pipe. I also need to be able to break it down to fit in my car. How tall should it be?

JB Live at the Exit/In (Exit Inn) Tape Tree

Good discussion on this this in the Jimmy Buffett Discussion forum so I thought I would post the tree. If you need help on how it works, just check one of the other "tape tree" discussions.
