Since the 'keet was born....a couple of times. Before then it was rare anyway. I feel the same way those rare times when I am home alone....I don't quite know what to do. An empty house seems to foreign to me now.

Another way to look at it ....think of it as a gift to your kids. They need you to be around for a long time.....they need a healthy mom and dad.

Never smoked, so I have no experience to offer, but I wanted to say hang in there! You can do it! My father-in-law has smoked the majority of his life....since he was about 12. Now, at age 59, he has emphysema.....he's on oxygen most of the time now. But....he still smokes. :( He has tried SO hard t...

However, I'd much prefere a woman breastfeeding her baby in a restaurant than changing its diaper. I've seen people change diapers on the seats of a booth and, God forbid, on the table. :o I don't have keets, so I'm sure it doesn't bother parents as much as it does me, but I don't want to be anywhe...

I can think of three friends of mine who worked and sucessfully breastfed for about a year......I don't know how they did it, but my hat's off to any woman who can do it for that long. I beat myself up a lot over giving it up, but I've gotten past that now. I have a happy, healthy (well, after ear t...

Re: Breast feeding in public

And if you think breast feeding a child is going to be 'very, very annoying'.....lol....you don't need to be having kids anytime soon. . I have to disagree..... I tried it... and found it to be the most unnatural function in the entire world for me! I gave it 3 weeks. She was misirable, I was misir...

Re: Breast feeding in public

I have, and quite honestly I think I would pump my milk into a bottle before I would breastfeed. And what I meant by gross, is when it is done in public. Been there, done that....pumping isn't always easy for everyone, though a lot of women do it quite successfully. I never had much success with it...

Sorry, but you just have to do what you have to do when you have a baby. So I guess women with babies should either leave and go home when they need to feed their baby (which can be every two hours or so when it is young) or never leave the house? (and like Mal and Soraya said, doing it in the bathr...

I have a 15-month-old who didn't sleep through the night until he was 12 months old, so I all too familiar with the effects of sleep deprivation. Even so, I am a bit baffled at this, but reading posts here, maybe it happens more often than I know, which is terribly sad. We are so in the routine of g...

The principal, at the school where I work, banned any type of flip-flops for students and staff, but relented after parents kept calling the superintendents office complaining....glad that's all they had to complain about! Guess they didn't want to have to buy their kids all new shoes. I like flip ...

Sail on, Walter Cox

I know no one knows who this is.....but a Clemson legend passed away yesterday. Walter T. Cox graduated from Clemson in 1939 and never left. He served as Dean of Students for 30+ years and then as Clemson's 10th president. He was like everyone's grandfather on campus.....his door was always open and...

Hi Jerry, welcome aboard. My first was SYKBH--a friend of mine made a copy for me from her CD. I was in high school at the time, and discovered JB's music during our Homecoming celebration week. The senior class had a Margaritaville theme one day and I loved the music, so my friend made me a copy of...

1. Do you enjoy camping? Or, if you have never been camping, why not? Yes, for the most part. I like getting out in nature and escaping from society for a little while, but it is a lot of work and I hate hate hate bugs. 2. Do you/would you prefer to camp in a tent or in a camper/rv and why? I've onl...

1. Are you a (good) haggler? No and neither is the hubby. My dad is, though, so if haggling needs to be done, we bring him along. 2. Do you regularly shop yard/garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, etc? I shop at kids consignment sales when I can and I have bought some things from Goodwill. But...
