First let me state that I was no angel in the past, I have never been DUId but could have been. I just came to the realization one day that it seems (and I have no data to support this) that the person being killed in a DUI related accident never seems to be the person drunk. For the past 15 years i...

That is a great deal and a great location. One of my most favoratre restaurants is right down the street "Lawrys The Prime Rib" 100 E. Ontario. It is rather pricey for dinner but they do have a lunch bar where you can get a great sandwich for under $10.

I agree that the message on Mailboat is really, really old. I am sure that this is referring to the already released live albums from the 2003 tour and the already released Mini-Matinee I. Mailboat records seems to be one of the worse companies for getting out timely information.

For those that stay at the airport and rent a car there might be another option. During the ball games they have a satellite parking facility at Devry University and they shuttle people to the ball. I don't know for sure if they will have this up for the concerts but I would be surprised if they don...

Just for those who don't know, the "blue" line train stop at Addison is quite a distance from the ball park (maybe about 3-4 miles). This is a different line than the one that stops a block away.

As far as the bars go I was not trying to scare anybody or be a gay basher. It was only meant as a bit of information for those that are coming to the area for the first time. I did not mean to imply that these bars are bad or going into a gay bar is dangerous. Having the knowledge beforehand freak...

MikeJW, Well written. That first post was informative, but it would freak people out who are not from the area. I have grown up and lived in Chicago my entire life, and I know that would have freaked out me a bit if I were coming to town as a newbie. And its the Best Western Hawthorne on Broadway :...

Wrigleyville Area

This is a post for those lucky enough to get tickets and do not know the area. I have lived in the Wrigleyville area for 17 years, and I do not claim to be an expert but I do know a little. The ball park is at Addison (3600 north and Clark (roughly 1030 west) Remember that Clark is an angle street s...

I can just about guarantee that the City will be enforcing the tow areas. There is talk that they might not allow any parking on Clark for a couple of blocks south. Also for anyone driving be aware that the meters need to be fed on Sunday. They changed the law last year that the meters around Wrigle...

Why Not Wrigley

Before I start my purpose is not to demean or criticize any member. With that said. I have been following the posts regarding the Wrigley Shows. Come on folks. We in Chicago are spoiled. When was the last year that Jimmy did not play in the Chicagoland area. Yes the tickets are higher than what I pa...

Re: Official when?

So will it be Saturday and Monday or Sunday and Monday? Couple of weeks ago had a chance to talk to a band member (PM); he said he didn't know which, but JB really doesn't like to perform two nights in a row..... I expect that's been the delay. Me? I'm covered; I booked a hotel for Saturday AND Sun...

There are a couple of female performers that always sell out here in Chicago Cher and Streisand. Also last year when Phil Collins toured it was a rather hard ticket. these are in addition to the names already mentioned

I was also at Comiskey for the Beatles and attended many a concert at the old Chicago Amphitheater. When the Beatles played you were lucky to hear anything because of all the screaming. When they played at the old Amphitheter Iwas an Andy Frain usher (really dating myself). I was lucky enough to be ...

I agree with you Sparty. I consider myself lucky to live in Chicago where Jimmy has played a minimum of 2 concerts (3 if you count Alpine) for the past umpteen years. Do I have a preference, yes, but he is not consulting me where he will play and nor should he. I consider myself a loyal fan and as l...

I would think that out of all his songs Livingston Saturday Night is probably the most politically incorrect with the "15 will get you 20" reference. This might be the reason he has abandoned this. I don't know if he had Savannah yet when he wrote the song.

Also if you look the dates listed are Sunday and Monday. I thought it was going to be Saturday Sunday. Secondly the Monday show is an afternoon show. That is what the City Council approved I believe.

Waveland, Addison and Sheffield would be the worse streets for the neighborhoosd groups since there are more residents living on thise blocks than on Clark. You do have a few bars but not really that many when you consider Clark street If my count is correct there are only three bars on those street...

Stranger things could happen but I doubt it. During the Cubs playoffs certain streets were shut down to traffic but no alcohol was allowed outside. I think that this concert was hard enough to sell to the neighborhood groups without this added to it. If the Cubs and the Alderman are looking for more...

I can't remember the year (maybe 2000) but the Cubs benefit show at the House of Blues in Chicago. Lucky enough to be standing right in front of the stage, even though there were no bad places to see the show.

What no Wrigley Field date. The Cubs are definitely out of town in February. I would think Great Woods would also be available.
