I'm surprised that no one has mentioned "Casablanca" -- that seems to me the ultimate Buffettesque movie -- "we'll always have Paris?" And the ultimate renegade?

For that matter, thinking of Humphrey Bogart, I'd have to suggest "To Have and Have Not".

ParrotheadCMC, overall, I agree with you (and I've seen this year's show in Vegas -- IMO, one of the worst set lists he's offered in recent years), BUT the show was still fun (always is). So, while I can't really complain, I'd be MORE than happy if he would jettison a few of the "classics"...

Bad news, pal -- it's been that way for the last three years (that I know of). I think that the floor seats were $150 a couple of years ago, and they sold, so it's up to $200 per seat -- what the market will bear (and clearly it will). A year ago May. I seem to remember paying nearly that, and I can...

OH, HOT DAMN (and double damn!!!)

Do you mean to tell me that I could've flown across the country to see Cher, and I was stoopid enough to jump through hoops to get tickets to see Buffett at Great Woods?

What in the WORLD is wrong with me?

And I was the guest who made the comments about using the broker for GW (and the last one about NOT being the one picking a fight), and, obviously, I've been registered for a while, but I drop in here so infrequently, I sometimes type and then think "oh, I didn't sign in". So, now you know...

Thanks for the advice -- and now I'm really torn (since we're also going to Great Woods shortly thereafter, I suppose we have to choose, as babysitting is NOT easy). But I'd LOVE to see JJW in person (moved here recently from.. ugh.. TX, but I do love "London Homesick Blues"), so I think I...

Sorry, that link, for me, just showed up lots of things I don't want to see: just check up TM (I know we hate them) on his name, and you'll get the dates.

Jerry Jeff Walker in SoCal -- which show?

As a long-time JJW fan who's never actually seen a show, on the horizon here are two shows: one with Keith Sykes and one just billing JJW. They're both in southern California in late July/August, both sound fun, but we're trying to figure out logistics (one would involve a babysitter, the other an o...

Am I alone on this one?

I keep hearing about the horrors of booking hotel rooms for GW (what with Tiger being in town, and all), but I managed to get (far more difficult) tickets for the Thursday show just this Monday, and had NO problem booking hotel rooms. In fact, we're presently triple-booked at decent places with libe...

We're off in a couple of hours -- and, latest TM compulsive ticket check news, they seemed to be releasing some pairs in the $100 seats this morning.

I loved GW, Houston is a NICE venue (the Woodlands, NOT the hockey rink) and Vegas is a party -- Cincinnati is unbelievable when you hear that "Fins" is about to start, MSG was a hoot, but that was the benefit concert, so specially charged, and I'd ALMOST say that West Palm Beach is the pr...

Thanks for the reminder, TM!

I just got an email from TM reminding me of an upcoming Buffett event to which I've got tickets: HELLO, yes, I knew I was leaving for Vegas in a few days, but it took them THIS LONG (as I had several from them today) to break down and print the Chicago tickets I bought weeks ago? What's wrong with t...

Party City, just about anyplace I've ever been (Houston, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cinci, Ft. Lauderdale, SoCal) -- they also have a great supply of leis, coconut bras and go-cups.

It's possible! My first traveling trip was to GW a couple of years ago, and 'tard girl managed to fracture a kneecap two weeks before, but a good friend of mine rented a wheelchair and got us into the handicapped section....the trip on the plane with that full-leg splint was MORE than a trip, but, d...

Good luck! (worst case, you know he'll see such a cool sign and get a chuckle out of it -- a good friend of mine's daughter took an "I know the words to all your songs" sign to the front row of GW a couple of years ago and was rewarded with some attention and a beachball tossed directly to...

I'm guessing that everyone who posts here has satisfactory tickets, but during my morning "compulsive see if we can upgrade check", it looks as though TM is releasing some tickets -- there haven't been pairs available before, and today pairs in L14 (pretty good seats) were showing up.

I doubt it, unless you'd like to get arrested, and, honestly, that's not much of a parking lot (unless you like gravel). Go indoors, have a few -- it's fun.

She's entirely right -- they're business lots, and they're pretty much occupied 'til end-of-business. BUT, if you go to Papa's and head in that direction, by that time they're pretty much emptied out and GOOD parking both in and out. No real tailgaiting up there, but Papa's is fun.

You guys have FUN -- one of the few things I miss since I moved from Houston is getting to see him (once he finally left the hockey rink and went back) at the Woodlands. And, lucky you, you get to be the first to see the new set list: let's hope it's as good as you might hope from seeing what's on M...
