The ONLY thing that might make me consider Tommy Rocker's (as I don't like crowds, etc), is this: is it true that Sunny Jim will be playing there? I LOVE him (love his recordings, and he was WONDERFUL on the side stage last year before the Houston concert -- which was GREAT, TONS of apparently ignor...

I love them both, but, given hearing either of them starting up in concert (and going nuts), hands down:

Damn, how could I forget the benefit concert at MSG? Or West Palm Beach? Or Ft. Lauderdale?

Well, who cares, they're ALL fun.

Red Rocks was my first JB -- what a great place! But, I have to say, GW, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Vegas (several times, now), the Mitchell Pavilion in Houston (as opposed to the hockey rink -- those were still fun, but terrible venue), Nissan, so on -- whoever said the concert's fun AND the ...

I've lost count, but I think that Vegas (leaving in two weeks!) will be edging up on thirty... and they've all been FUN.

Agreed, or none of us would do it, but I deal with TM because I have no choice, not because they're "convenient".

You know, TM still gouges you on the lawn: why should a thirty-odd dollar ticket end up in the mid-to-high forties? They must have some fancy-pants printers there.

Which begs the question: this is convenient, HOW? (KNOW it's the only game in town and we have no choice, and I don't begrudge a CENT of the ticket price, but, dammit, what's TM done for us lately?)

The show's on a Tuesday, right? So you'll likely not be there on a Thursday-Saturday, but, if you are, Radio Music Theater (near Richmond and Kirby) is a scream. Three live performers doing original material -- music and comedy -- and I've never been there without nearly hurting myself.

Not sure what you mean by "nightlife", but the Galleria area tends to hop and isn't far at all from downtown... if that would be your preference, there are two Westin hotels that anchor the Galleria proper, a Doubletree Suites which is nice a block or so west of there on Westheimer, and a ...

Not physically far, but you'll have to go at least one exit south and then north again for two, if I remember correctly.

For the person who asked: The Woodlands (I used to work at the Mitchell offices, which are VERY close to the venue, and, in fact, the best place to park, IMO) are exactly 42 miles from where I used to live in SW Houston when I commuted out there -- so figure, from I-10/Houston tollroad vicinity, abo...

Same here checking on tickets for Chicago -- the Vegas tickets arrived about a week after ordering, but apparently they got pretty backlogged with all of the shows they put on sale the day that GW, Nissan, et al went on sale.

They just have separate entrances -- no separation on the lawn, but they push you through a different gate for the pavilion seating.

I lied: while I liked the ones I mentioned having BEEN there, I missed the Dallas concert a while ago whe he did this one, but I've got a CD: Lovely Cruise, for Pam, the Volcano Lady. I wasn't there, but the CD puts me in tears every time. But, knowing Pam, I also know she'd kick my ass if I didn't ...

I'd have to agree that people ought to post, and those objecting to markups ought to just avoid them - I was the one who asked about what is fair for time and trouble.. honestly, I dunno, I just know what I can take when I have extas (face + TM+ shipping) and what I'm willing to pay (I went wild and...
