You know I've got a lot of things going today and obviously this discussion is going nowhere so I am going to pass the mantle to someone else. I have said my peace and now it's like talking to a stop sign so I am going to tag out.

This number does not account for those Americans that are on Medicare/Medicaid. That leaves about 10 to 12 million unisured. Why not inc...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
Sure this will make different people angry in different ways. Here is my insurance nightmare story. I once had a car stolen, it was financed at the time so I had the required collusion and comprehensive coverage. My evil insurance company refused to pay the claim. Truth of the matter is that I was ...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
I'd be willing to bet that there's not one politician who have had to mortgage their house to pay for medicines that would save their life. How can one expect the consumers to show personal responsibility and accountability when those that are responsible for providing our healthcare do really irre...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
Show me in that section where the government is trying to kill off old people. It's not there. That provision encourages a consultation between a patient and a practitioner to explain the benefits of an advanced care plan including that of a living will. If the person gets seriously ill within the ...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
. I've known plenty of people over the years who are consumed with politics, but not me. I also know plenty of people who are seemingly just like me, and we have as much at stake with all this as everyone else. We need to have a voice without being constituents to the political parties. I think you...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
TTiki, no one is ramrodding anything. The bill will lay dormant through the August recess which will give people plenty of time to make up stuff there isn't there and make people afraid of it. Brad, has your rep read the entire bill? Mine hasn't, I asked him. There are watchdog groups on both sides...

Tiki, no one is ramrodding anything. The bill will lay dormant through the August recess which will give people plenty of time to make up stuff there isn't there and make people afraid of it. People wouldn't be afraid of it if there wasn't anything to be afraid of. And recess or not, I don't think ...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
Administrators that don't contribute to patient care add to the cost of healthcare. Michelle Obama was a VP at the University of Chicago Hospital while her husband was a state senator. After he was elected to the U.S. Senate, her salary was doubled to over $300,000. That same amount would have paid...

Re: The future of healthcare in the US?
I agree that tort reform is high up on the list for things that must be done in order for real change to occur. Also, there needs to be a lot more care taken in all the waste that occurs in the medicine, i.e. unnecessary testing and prescription abuse. The health care lobby has their hands down the ...
