Re: Margaritaville Rums at New Olreans Margaritaville

Gerald the bartender said to tell you Hello. We tried the Dark this weekend. I was very pleasantly surprised! It's a Margaritaville product, so I'll admit I was expecting utter crap. It was pretty decent. There's not a lot on the nose, just molasses. The taste is the same as the smell- just molasses...

Re: The worst tequila ever!

Wow, that's really, really bad.

I've never done that with rum (my drink of choice), but we did hand a bottle of 99 Bananas to someone at a tailgate and told them not to come back until it was empty. Then again, I pretty much don't buy rum without a recommendation from someone I trust.

Possible why? Because someone was going to find him, and he didn't want said someone to be his family.

Re: oil free turkey fryer....???

Gary has already brought home 3 hogs within the past month and half. 'Course those would be too big for that, but I'm thinkin' he might ought to start eyeing the little ones... :o  hmmm  I don't know about the 10 days thing, I guess it would depend on how they stored it. Hubby cleans the...

Re: oil free turkey fryer....???

I would never kid about deep fried pork. It was waxed and gutted, of course, but it was whole. It was a smidge curled up to get the whole thing in the oil. We didn't have time to brine it (we picked it up the morning of the party- it was that or have it killed on Wednesday and held for 10 days...

We just used our fryer for a 14 pound suckling pig last weekend. It was insanely good.

Funny- nothing makes me break out in hives quite like Neutrogena.

Re: Bed

we love our memory foam...have a 3" on top of a Sealy Posturpedic. When we go to phlockings, vacation etc, we both comment how much we can't wait to get back to our own bed. We both hate staying in lesser hotels now that we're used to the super cushy bed. We actually bought a second pad to go ...

Re: bed

We have an older Serta with a memory foam mattress pad on top- it's super cushy.

But it depends on what you like- some people are happier sleeping on a pile of cardboard boxes (what the mattress felt like before the memory foam).

Re: For parents of kids w/ food allergies...

However, something we run into fairly often is when getting a salad at a restaurant, the server often forgets to leave off the croutons. We live in constant fear that the server will just try to take off the croutons instead of making a new salad because the tiniest amount causes a reaction. Just a...

So some little punks were obnoxious at McDonald's, were told to stop, didn't, and got a ticket for it. Why doesn't this happen more often exactly?

I'm calling fake on the drunk guy. There's no way an employee would have let him stay in the store like that. Furthermore, I don't know anyone who's gotten falling down drunk who still wants to drink more- usually by that point you're trying not to puke.

Re: travel on a budget??

Most of the flights on Airtran to the really warm places- Cancun, Puerto Rico are running around $500. With 8 people, a $200 per night house- doable on VRBO- would still leave $200 per person, which might be ok depending on what you want to do when you're there. If you just want to parkass your carc...

Re: Gun-toting soccer mom is shot dead in Lebanon, PA

My thought has always been if someone wanted to take my stuff I really don't care, I can get more stuff - I couldn't kill them over it. I'd of course, report it to the police and hope they were caught etc but I'd never be able to kill them. I'm not even 100% sure that if I even owned a gun I could ...

Re: Where's The Rum?

I tried a sample of the rum at Margaritaville in Las Vegas in mid June this year. It was pretty average; nothing to write home about, but certainly not horrible. It was pretty drinkable. They had a white and a spiced variety. I tried them both. Personally, their are other options available that I p...

Carol, we roll up our clothes. Jim had done this on one of our trips and I kinda laughed at him. Then when I looked at his bag compared to mine he had much more room left and his clothes didn't seem to get as wrinkled. Downy Wrinkle Release. I just saw the travel size at Walmart yesterday. Haven't ...

Re: travel on a budget??

Where are you coming from, are you looking to drive or fly there, and can you please define "not too expensive"? Do you want to look at the beach or actually go in the water?

Puerto Rico could be great- but not if you're trying for a road trip and you're leaving from the left coast.
