Re: sorry

the rest of my question was in the subject line. i was wondering if anyone had ever been down to key west for the fantasyfest. my wife and i will be down at the beginning of that this year. first real vacation without our kids. Fantasyfest is AWEWSOME, as long as you are not a tight-ass. It is kind...

Last year my wife ate a bunch of "brown jello shots" from a friendly Parrothead....hours later she was passed out next to the van....so DO NOT EAT THE BROWN JELLO SHOTS!

Anyway, I think we came to a consensus that they usually open 'em up around 1, despite what the "official" time may be. People start showing up around noon.

Sound about right, Frank?
They will open between 1 and 1:30.

If you thought that beach was nice, then you have a pretty low standard for beaches. That beach is a pile of rocks.

Are you doing a one-day down and back trip? If so, that's a heck of a trip.

I bought one at Target last year...it was in their camping section. Cost less than $20....I can't recall the mnfr, though.

The thing works like a champ...plugs right into to the cigarette lighter and makes a killer margarita.

I grew up in S. FL. Also lived in Ft. Myers for a time. Lived in KW as well. Thus, I've been to beaches up and down both FL coasts...Sanibel/Captiva, Ft. Myers/Naples/Bonita Beach....Key Biscayne/SoBeach/Miami Beach Of course Daytona. Jupiter beach is one that I fondly recall. Been to all the beache...

There is no comparison between the three listed. Cabo Wabo is far better than Marg. or Cuervo.

Does anyone know who makes Margaritaville tequila for Buffett?

Spent half my life in KW, the other half in S. FL....listening to stories from my father of the KW of the 70's...I suppose it just kinda happened. Music has a tendency to "take you back" to moments in life....Buffett reminds me of the years I spent in the Keys and the waters around the Key...

Man, no way that I'd do KW for 10 days...that is entirely too long. KW has only one real "beach" (Smathers), and as far as beaches go, it ain't that good. If it rains, you can basically do all the "rainy day" activities in one day. If you like to spend time in bars, then KW for 1...

Overall, I don't like the album. My opinion: If I want to hear Kenny Chesney, I will buy a Chesney album. If I want to hear Clint Black, I will buy a Clint Black album. If I want to hear Martina McBride, I will buy a Martina McBride album. OK, I was lying, if I want to hear Buffett, I will buy Chesn...

I have driven over 3000 miles in the past week. I have listened to LTC and Chesneys new album about a dozen times. I have reached a conclusion. If I want to listen to country music, I will listen to LTC...although I love his covers of the Dead and Hank, Jr. If I want to listen to Buffett music, I wi...

This is not his greatest album....unique and different, yes....but not his greatest. Rememer, we're talking "biggest" -- not necessarily "greatest." Regardless, I stand by my comments....this is not "his" album, per se....it is an album that is a compilation of various...

I don't see how this can even be considered to be "his" album. Is his name on the label? Sure.

But how many songs were written by him?

How many songs feature him, rather than other artists?

This is not his greatest album....unique and different, yes....but not his greatest.

Re: Boats to Build and COC = jimmy's story to his fans?

I see a lot of strong references in Boats to build and Coast of Carolina in which He is really trying to reach out to his loyal fan base. BTB, IMO, refers to his wanting to change his style and in COC he states he knows the end of his career is coming fast and he wants to be known for something oth...

Re: Camel's nose under the tent

Glad it seems to have ended pretty well. Jimmy and his agents would have to do something to protect his TM. Glad the publicity may have helped the play. Once you let the camel's nose under the tent, how do you keep him out? Once you let one get away with using Margaritaville, how do you stop the re...
