Re: Where to go in the Caribbean?
Thanks to all who replied. BN'ers are the best! We booked at Long Bay Beach Resort in the BVIs (Tortola.) http://www.longbay.com/ We'd talked several years ago about checking out the BVI's, and now it's finally going to happen. :-) If you've got suggestions on what to do there, let me know. I'll pos...

Re: Where to go in the Caribbean?
Thanks for all the help so far - keep it coming!
Also.... we're thinking about maybe trying:
Long Bay Beach Resort
http://www.longbay.com/
or maybe
Pusser's Marina Cay
http://www.pussers.com/t-marina-cay.aspx
Anybody know anything about either one?

Where to go in the Caribbean?
Okay.... I'm counting on my BN friends to help me out once again. Never been let down so far. Dear wife and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and have decided we need to go somewhere in the Caribbean. Problem is... where???? Here are the details: 1. Only got 5-6 days. 2. Going in January...

Re: Corporate Buzzwords!
There's tons of this kind of cr*p in the world of education.... The usual thing, though, is to make verbs out of nouns. Drives me freakin' crazy..... You don't "network." You build a network. You don't "conference." You hold a conference. I've come to believe that turning nouns i...

While I sympathize with the AC bill..... give me summer ANY time.
I was out working or playing on the hottest days of the summer (101 degrees, 95 humidity.) Drenched, hot, even kinda tired... but NOT freezing my arse off.
Come on Jimmy.... keep summer going as LONG as possible......

Ya know..... on the last three "hottest days of the year" I've been outside - either working or playing. Topped 100 degrees all three days, heat indexes of 110 + and it just wasn't that bad. I'll take the heat over winter ANY day..... http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss351/hazeleyez030/w...

Re: Thoughts About The Show in Gulf Shores, Alabama
For anyone planning to head to the gulf coast..... I'd suggest checking out my favorite little piece of heaven: http://www.navarrechamber.com/ Navarre Beach, FL (just across the bridge from Navarre, FL.) It's actually an island with a bridge on each end. Quiet, open beaches, way fewer tourists than ...

Dunno about the codes, but we visited the hotel (and Landshark Landing beach bar) last week while we were in the area. Man..... that is a NICE place. Beautiful inside, lots of marble/stone/something surfaces, tasteful, subdued island decor, overlooks the ocean, beautiful view..... WOW. The Frank/Lol...

Re: How many years does Jimmy Have Left?
Well... this is based on things Jimmy has actually said... In 2008, it was a presidential election year, and at the October Vegas show he joked "and if I am elected to serve 8 more years...." Then on the Encores album, (I forget which song) he jokes about "ten more years." My bes...

Re: Tar Balls in Paradise
Not really much to say on this topic except that Jimmy got into the hotel gig BEFORE the oil spill. Delaying the opening of the hotel would simply prevent some folks from getting a paycheck. The hotel opening on time gets some people paid, and maybe even draws some tourists who wouldn't come otherwi...

Re: Guy's flip flops input please
Have to agree.... I bought a pair of M'ville flip-flops and LOVE them. Before these, I've not had a pair I liked since Junior High (25 years ago) and had about given up trying. This is my second summer in these (I don't wear them THAT much) and they still look and feel great. http://i193.photobucket...

Post/link us to your FAVORITE version of a JB song!
All this talk about old vs. new versions of songs, Jokelben, and the new version of Pirate currently being performed gave me an idea..... I (and probably you, too) love stumbling on great versions of JB songs. Problem is, I only happen upon them once in a while. I figured, though, that BN'ers would ...

Re: Early vs. Current Versions of Songs
I find the discussion about the way Jimmy does certain songs today versus the way he "used to do them" to be interesting. It reminds me of a discussion I have with my 20-something nephews about the Beatles. I started with the Beatles in 1963 and to this day still prefer the "early&qu...

Re: Tea Party to get a wedgie on wednesday
Ummm, (no). Not entirely. Be careful with this math, it sux, I know, but its not that simple. The $5.8 Billion being referred to here are the *Loans* only. The U.S. Government also purchased stock to help boslter GM. Overall, GM received $50 billion in federal help (loans + stock purchase influx). ...
