Lyric Changing

Just got an idea to create a thread about changes JB makes to the lyrics while performing live. Here are some I can think of. Why Don’t We Get Drunk: Album: I just bought a waterbed filled up for me and you Live: I just bought a waterbed filled up with Elmer’s Glue Come Monday: Album: California has...

On the review threads owners of the Vegas CD say that there are pauses in between tracks. Maybe they are recalling them to fix the problem. Doubt it, but you never know. I’m used to tracks seamlessly switching on live albums. I have not heard of one that does not until now. What gives?

Wait, there are pauses in between songs? You mean the tracks don’t seamlessly move to the next like all the other live albums? (I’m talking all live albums ever created by any artist, not just Jimmy). How unprofessional!

I don’t understand what’s going on. The CDs were delayed until Nov. 4th, right? Than how are you guys getting them?

Is the drum intro on there? Not that I would mind it’s absence, just curious because I don’t see it on the track listing.

The Meet Me in Margaritaville song is fine until it starts going “He’s Jimmy Buffett and he…” Those lines are cheesy, but the rest of the song is good.

um, check out feeding frenzy or any concert from the 70's, early 80's. Yeah, I know. The song is just fine without the verse, but he shouldent let the radio people win. They cut the song because he was a new artist breaking onto the scene, not quite Bob Dylan. My brother told me the same thing.

One would think Come Monday is about a woman, but isn’t it really about a pick-up truck?

Margaritaville Lost Verse

OK, I have been wounding about this. In the TT&S liner notes, Jimmy says that the “over observant radio folks” noticed the song was too long for radio play. I just don’t get it. Does the verse really add that much length to the song? If Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone” got on the air uncut (I ...

There are many JB songs that I love, but there are three that have lyrics that hit home for me: Cowboy in the Jungle: The lyrics have the power to cure crappy moods and to lift even the heaviest weights from your chest. Happily Ever After (Now and Then): Ditto Growing Older But Not Up: This one hits...

“Hell froze over”? “The best Windows application ever”? Gee, I didn’t realize that Apple thought that much of themselves. I’m not going to get this, because I rather have the official CDs with the liner notes and artwork. Yeah, I know that in the case of many JB CDs you are not missing much [printed...

I chose choice #2. Why, because lately, I have become quite aggravated with greatest hits discs, and its not just with Jimmy. Like I said in other forums, my dad began collecting JB albums on CD starting with SYKBH and skipped over Hot Water and BBB&B. He took a shortcut with the WSCPC-LMIP mate...

Well, it’s my dad who bought SYKBH many years back and brought Jimmy’s music into the family. He bought every album on CD from the point with the exception of Hot Water and BBBB. My mom enjoys the music just as much. I liked listening to the CDs every time my dad put them on, but it wasn’t until thi...

For the record lots of older artists have 20th Century Masters cds. And on most of them there are some hits left off. From reading some posts it seems that some don't know this. Not that I would buy it but if everyone else can have one then why not Jimmy. Oh, I know this. My dad has a James Brown C...

A goldmine is right. This huge obstacle is the fact that the MCA label owns all the recordings. All they are concerned about is re-releasing the same stuff over and over again (exhibit A: 20th Century Masters Collection). If only Jimmy could yonk all the recordings right out of MCA’s hands and put t...

There appears to be many JB songs not available on CD. There should be a rare masters set or reissues with bonus tracks. If only Mailboat could get this stuff, because its not going to happen on MCA.

Lets set up a math problem here: SYKBH – A Pirate Looks At Forty – Grapefruit/Juicyfruit – Boat Drinks + Brown Eyed Girl + Fruitcakes = 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Jimmy Buffett For there to be so little differences for me to set up a stupid problem like the one abo...

Interesting Discography Information

I did some Google searches for a JB discography and came upon this page: http://www.talan.net/buffett/discography.html . OK, its kind of out dated, seeing how it only goes up to Christmas Island and states that there are no CD issues for DTE or HCJ, but it tells a lot about how many times the albums...
