Van Morrison

Just thought I start an “other artist” thread on the great Van Morrison, as I’ve been discovering his early catalogue lately. I grew up listening to the “Best of…” compilation, but in the past few months I’ve been starting to collect the CD releases of his early albums one by one. So far I own Astra...

There's something about being on the beach when its chilly, as it looks on the cover Does the inner sleeve open or is it a standard sleeve? There are two versions...

Why do so many people make that friggin mistake? Is it that hard to spell the man's name?

Buffet isn't even Buffett, it's "Buff-ay", as in the section of a resturant or a cafe where you serve yourself.

Do you like singer/songwriter type folk music such as Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel or Jim Croce? If so, I would pick these two titles up. Even if you don't, I would still get them if you're into collecting all his works and these two albums depend on the completness of your collection. When you do g...

I believe it's a pier somewhere in Alabama. The phone booth is most likely a prop that he had made and braught there.

I was able to score a copy of this album on vinyl at a used record shop in Tampa. It was the original version with the opening inner sleeve where the non-musician credits are on the front and on the inside are the lyrics and musician credits. The package is so much better than the CD's and really do...

I like Sherry Darling from the River as well as Waiting on a Sunny Day from The Rising. I actually have a lot of favorites of his, those are just two that come to mind at the moment.

The Living and Dying in 3/4 Time interior gatefold painting by Richard Bibby. Best album art ever.

But, if I have to choose a front cover, it would be that of Volcano (also by Richard Bibby!)

I said it before and I'll say it once again, just saying "I want Live by the Bay [and Tales from Margritavison as said in other threads] on DVD" or "Maybe someday it will", "I wish", "That would be nice" etc. is not going to do anything. Please, if your time p...
