That's a tough call because they're all great albums. Since you're new to the scene, I'd suggesting picking up the following: 1) Beaches, Boats, Bars, and Ballads (The Boxed Set). 2) Meet Me In Margaritaville. 3) Fruitcakes. 4) Songs You Know By Heart. That should give you a good introduction. I do...

Ok, so I get home about 30 minutes ago and see the same message you are seeing. Apparantly some a**hole(s) took advantage of a security problem with the discussion board. I am currently upgrading to the latest board. Hopefully the problem will be worked out in an hour or so Jim just upgraded to php...

This really bytes. Really, no joke, this is horrible as AMC and Bamafan put so much work into that site and had many unique features, such as the discography and the album art section. That one section featured many scans of record packages by AMC himself, and judging by the size of vinyl jackets, s...

Well yes, it is a fact the minority seeks vinyl, and on that note I think it’s a good idea to keep the vinyl issues of new albums in limited editions. This way, the collectors and audiophiles can have what they desire and the record companies won’t be overloaded with a high price to mass-produce so ...

Mailboat: Vinyl?
I’ve been noticing that many artists are still releasing their albums on good ol’ vinyl records. Of course, you can’t buy them in stores anymore, you have to go to shops that specialize in music or order online at places like Tower Records. To name some examples, every Beatles posthumous release tha...

Yeah, I know. I guess the concerts for YHTBT were not long after the CILCIA album and the Margaritaville 45' were released, so Jimmy had not yet discovered that the verse was deleated and people were learning the song without it. We all know he put the verse back in shows around the time of the Tues...

At last! I’ve got a vinyl LP!!
After staring at pics of JB record packages for over a year, I’ve finally acquired a copy of Coconut Telegraph at a record shop in Tampa. Fortunately, it’s the original with the gatefold inner sleeve. They only had one JB (well, they had A-1-A and SOASOAS, but they were both re-issues and were beat ...

None exist that I know of. I search Amazon at least once a week to see if any new products have popped up under Jimmy Buffett - Popular Music, but no luck. Like Gumbo (in other threads) and Jahfin have said, it would be a great way to reissue. But the fault is, neither the record label or JB himself...

Of course you realise I was kidding about suing MCA. But wouldn't it be funny if it actually did happen? MCA execs would be stymied! It would be hilarious! I would be so relieved if that happened. I don't think I would ever stop laughing! I could just imagine them scrambling for excuses: &quo...

Yes, I know all about the vinyl reissues. When MCA bought out ABC/Dunhill, they re-issued AWSCAPC-SOASOAS with just the front and back covers, eliminating everything that was contained on gatefolds, inner sleeves and inserts. I think they moved A-1-A’s liner notes from the gatefold to the back cover...

I strongly feel the need to bring this back. It was such a strong discussion that faded away for some reason back there. The desire for remasters and DVD releases is present on this board, I can sense it. Please, lets aid in telling them we want um’! And I know many of you probably are thinking some...
