Jason teams with former Wilco member Jay Bennett here with mixed results mostly stemming from sounding too much like Jay's former band. This EP is being released in anticipation of a full length recording later this year from Jason and Jay.

Most the artists listed aren't even what I would consider "country" music, they're the brand of "pop" country that passes for the real thing in Nashville these days. There's a whole other genre of country music that's been deemed "too country" (whatever in the hell that...

I second that commotion especially since most of the artists being named are wannabe hat acts that wouldn't know what real country music was if it jumped up and bite 'em on the ass. :D

I remember a made-for-TV movie about Jan and Dean quite a few years ago that depicted his struggle following the accident. Considering all that he's been through it's a miracle he lived this long. One of the true innovators of "surf" music, he'll be sorely missed.

As much as I prefer the Diamond Dave era of the band I think he's past his prime and is no longer a viable asset to the band. The article I saw in Rolling Stone not long ago about him doing one of his trademark high jumps and kicking himself in the head (which knocked him out) is only testament to t...

I sooner see Jerry Jeff Walker show up but maybe that's just me. :D I have to agree but......but talk about ambitious wishful thinking!! A feller can dream can't he? Marshall Chapman would also make another nice "dream duet" padner over any of most of today's wannabe country stars. She di...

I'm guessing Run-DMC were included because they are often credited with being the first to merge rock with rap for their collaboration with Aerosmith on "Walk This Way". This doesn't explain the inclusion of Madonna, who to my knowledge has never performed one note of rock n' roll in her e...

Now the time has come, Time! There's no place to run, Time! I might get burned up by the sun, Time! But I had my fun, Time! I've been loved and put aside, Time! I've been crushed by the tumbling tide, Time! And my soul has been psychedelicized, Time! Time! Now the time has come, Time! There are thin...

We decided on "The Captain and the Kid" for my Dad's funeral ten years ago. We all grew up on his knee, holding on to the steering wheel (usually for dear life ) when we went out to sea. Not exactly the same thing but I always liked what Johnny Carson said he wants on his tombstone: &...

Crimson flames tied through my ears Rollin' high and mighty traps Pounced with fire on flaming roads Using ideas as my maps "We'll meet on edges, soon," said I Proud 'neath heated brow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now. Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth "R...
