Interview on Atlanta TV

Jimmy appeared last night on Monica Kaufman's "Close-Ups" on WSB-TV in Atlanta. This is a local news version of the famous Barbara Walters show. Monica did the usual interview we've read or seen hundreds of times, asking about "Why Don't We Get Drunk ..." and how Jimmy explains t...

All of you guys have got to hear Jimmy discuss the CD on Radio Margaritaville with Steve Huntington. I heard it last Sat. morning and playing the CD today is so much better because of it. I love this album. It will get lots of play this weekend on the way to Savannah for the St. Patty's Day Regatta!...

A pretty good article but as usual the press gets it wrong again. There are a few errors in this piece. Enough to prompt me to send an e-mail to the editor: "Dear Sir/Madam: Just thought I let you know of some inconsistencies in Mark Seal's article on Jimmy Buffett that appear to be from poor r...

TicketMaster is the Darth Vader of concert ticket sales!! I didn't even bother trying this year after 3 years of being shut out at a Publix (on top of the store employees being really rude). The first 5-6 people out of 200 get tickets? Absurd. But more than anything I have a real problem with Ticket...

There's a guy here in Atlanta that flys his Stearman from PDK airport up to Lake Lanier. Its got a blue fuselage with gold wings with the early WWII star insnigia on them. Thousands of these were built early in the war to use as basic trainers. He just cruises the lake and I always think of the line...

World's largest toast is going to be tough. From the Guinness Beer website: With this year’s live Barenaked Ladies Pay-Per-View Concert, a full 545,376 of you raised a pint, a bottle or a can and helped raise important funds in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. .... you never know till y...

Now let's not forget the sailing-world famous cheeseburgers and Painkillers at Village Cay Marina in Roadtown. Can anyone post a link to the article or the actual text? _________________ Taste for the good life, I can live it no other way . . . [size=-1][ This Message was edited by: CaptainLefty on ...

While this may have a more "commerical look" to it, I definitely like it better than the previous cover.

I'm with you. Heck, I was listening to a reggae CD before I decided I had better check on traffic. Woke up to 6 inches of pure snow on my truck since 5pm yesterday where I live on the banks of the Hooch. For Hotlanta that's rare! We usually get a cocktail of freezing rain/sleet/snow/freezing rain/sl...

In the midst of Atlanta's best real snowstorm in 10 years on Wednesday afternoon, WGST-640AM talk radio DJ Kim Peterson elected to play Buffett tunes for his "bumper" music. It was surreal to be listening to Margaritaville on the radio in rush hour gridlock while it was snowing like mad ou...

BTW, when you bareboat - once you go cat you can't go back.

There's nothing like doing 12 knots on a close reach down the Drake Channel on a Privilege 43 catamaran (with JB on the stereo, of course.)

Yep. One of my favorite "beach" memories was a bareboat charter in the BVI in summer of 1994. We drank Painkillers while hanging out in the freshwater pool at Pussers Leverick Bay and watching a whole bunch of Puerto Ricans go CRAZY watching the Soccer World Cup on TV. Thankfully that was ...

Village Cay Marina rocks! I've been there more than once and got their cheeseburger recipe: 1. Spend 2 weeks on an overcrowded bareboat sailing the BVI. 2. Dock your boat at Village Cay. 3. Order their cheeseburger and a Painkiller. 4. Order another Painkiller and jump in their freshwater pool. ... ...

I'm a big fan of Emeril and he mentions JB probably more than any other actor/musician. If they re-run his stadium show from Orlando you got to watch it. He cooks recipes from some of the restaurants around Margaritaville, including Marley's and a cheeseburger (of course) from you-know-who.

Well, it's obvious JB is not in it for the money, cause if he was he could have sold out Atlanta 3 nites plus! Won't even talk about Cincinnati, etc. I had to choose between seeing JB at Philips or going to the St. Pete boat show. I'll think of all ya'll behind the stage after fighting thru Atlanta ...

I recently visited the Strategic Air & Space Museum in Omaha, NE. In their restoration hanger they were working on a Grumman Albatross seaplane just like Jimmy's. It was stripped down to its aluminum skin and it look like they were overhauling the engines. The hanger was sealed off so I snapped ...
