Why?
If there was going to be some huge final concert...why should it be for parrothead club members only..or even at MOTM? Are you arguing that someohow these are "better" or "real" Jimmy fans? Because thats a whole different tangent for me...

I consider brokers just as bad if not worse. I think ticket brokers are simply the greatest thing ever invented. I do find it odd, people complain about scalpers when sites like this probably fuel the ticked demand and thus make scalpers lives easier. I have never quite understood all the anger. Bu...

capt tony's.... right. when he's got his own place down the street. I am not sure if you have ever been to Key West or not. If you have, you realize the complete absurdity of your statement. A cool bar, with long roots in Key West or an example of Jimmy's corporate empire where they don't even give...

No kidding, it should be at Key West, at MOTM, for parrothead club members. But no beforehand announcement, or maybe only a couple of month's notice
I have already stated where in Key West it should be. As for it being just for parrothead members that is pretty silly.

SchoonerWharf, if you do come to Alpine Valley in 2006, don't wear a red shirt or your BM name tag (if you even have one) ... you might find yourself wearing a strawberry margarita into the show! Oh dont worry I will wear my "Purdue Football" shirt....it still irks me how we lost to the B...

I think it should end before we know it ended........ otherwise it's likely to be a zoo.... and I think it should be in a little bar in the islands somewhere...... just the lucky folk who happen to be there..... as for the last big show? wherever the tour happens to end that fall...... and like I s...

I hope you enjoy my addition to my tagline, as somewhat of a peace offering to the Alpine mob trying to find my house to burn it down...lol

Man, I wonder what it's like to experience "Buffett burn-out"? Try as I might...I just can't imagine it!!!
Do not confuse "Buffett burn out" with priorities.

oh well, I'm ready for it, after all I was a parrothead before I'd been to any shows..Now it's to the point where I have an island time state of mind and thanks to Jimmy there is plenty of island music out there to keep me goin'....... Amen to that. Life will go on after Jimmy decided to ride into ...

Like many here I am a hardcore Jimmy fan and remember the days when going to see him seemed like the most important thing in the world. But honestly at this point, if Jimmy coming to town is in the top 10 most important things in your life...well all I can say is I am glad I have 10 more important t...

I agree. Of all Jimmy's albums this one reminds me most of a concept album.
In fact to further the point. I have a friend who is huge into this album and he has long said that if Jimmy ever made "Margaritaville: The Movie" this should be the script. Not a bad idea.

I'd say except for maybe A1A, Floridays is Jimmy at his finest. Wow thats a tough call. I would put Changes in Latitutdes and Coconut Telegraph up there with A1A. Then again maybe I wouldn't....it would be an impossible task, there is a lot of quality stuff back then. The thing that has always impr...

For the record, pretty much all of the threads that have dealt with Alpine Valley have had the word "Alpine" in the title. You do have the option of not reading them. It's kinda like complaining about something on TV istead of using your remote control to change the channel when you don't...

All his mid to late 80s stuff is underrated... RITS, LMIP, Floridays, and Hot Water are great. So is OPH, but at least the title track gets lots of play plus Distantly in Love is a great song. I think Riddles in the Sand is also incredibly underrated. Distantly In Love actually makes every list i p...

I posted a thread a while back about Jimmy's most underrated album or album that you forget how good it is or something like that. As I recall Floridays was the tope vote getter and certainly got a vote from me. I love the album and do wish he would tap into it alittle more often.

Wow, i hope this is true because my god i don't know what we would all do if a concert at Alpine wasn't the number one talked about thing on this site. Really I would get depressed.
