JJW hails not just from New York but upstate as in Oneonta. O is for Oneonta if your singin Redneck Mother, especially when he's playing BB Kings.

I had the great pleasure to see Tom Rush there a few years back. Great venue. I hope to see JJW and REK there some day. Just not easy to get to Alexandria from LI unless the company I work for cooperates.

I'm going off the top of my head here but I believe it's a cover and a putdown of the city or its populace. I don't believe the now financially correct JB would sing it in the Lonestar State even if the audience didn't have time to study the lyrics.
