Lightfoot toasts Walker
At NYC's Town Hall last nite living legend Gordon Lightfoot tipped his sailor's cap to Kris Kristofferson and more importantly Jerry Jeff Walker as two guys from his early days who could perform, party, perform and party some more. Since I was sportin my 20th Anniversary Tried & True Shirt you c...

JJW an Allright Guy
I've never seen JJW outside of the state he were born and bred in- NYS. I have seen him with Todd Snider @ BBKings in NYC and that included Allright Guy. I hope to see him someday in Virginia or Maryland or perhaps even Texas if Goodman Jr goes schoolin there. Never been to Camp Belize but Cowboy Bo...

Sounds like a real party. Definitely will catch Scamp next chance I get.
He's a living legend IMHO; so every time you see him- good show or great show, it's magic.

I'm gonna wait to hear some Amazon or BN reviews before I buy the book. These books can be superficial and don't give you the facts you'd like.

Todd Covers JJW
A1aara Thanks for your sincere and generous offer, but prior legal restraints must keep Goodman under the covers, (literally and figuratively) but with his hands on the wheel. Perhaps someday we might make this cultural exchange at Sonora I will now make it my quest to secure such materiale from TS ...

Duke's in Hawaii
I think it actually refers to the early 1960's filming of Donovan's Reef by John Wayne, Lee Marvin, Jack Warden & Liz Allen. In case I'm mistaken, (I probably am) I've advised my bro-in law and his wife to be on the cookout when they visit Waikiki in a week or so. I better get a tee shirt, I kno...

I think I heard that too except they were going to record the album at Jerry Jeff's place in Sonora.mikemck wrote:I could be wrong about this, but I'm sure I remember an interview in which Buffett said that he and Croce and Steve Goodman had talked about working together on an album in one form or another.

Seems like a great opportunity to get back on the board. Merry Christmas/Happy Chanukah and best wishes to all for a peaceful 2007 (except for JB shows). I don't expect to get more info on the JC/JB connection. What's out there is plenty. Why JB never has covered a Croce tune is a bit of an enigma. ...

Not going this year. Hope he has a couple of great sets. To anyone in attendance a setlist would be appreciated. Hope the NYC crowd remembers to let The Artist play what he wants and just sit back and enjoy. O is for Oneonta!

Chuck
Always have had mixed feelings about this one. I like JJW & Django collaboratin but the lyrics by Guy Clark are a little thin IMHO. The last verse dealing with the old and grey man should have a fresh metaphor for jumping off the garage. Maybe like cuttin his meds.

Chuck Wagon
Well Chuck your unusual name got me to thinking of the classic JW film Red River and the character with a hankering for sugar who causes a stampede. He was the sous chef to Walter Brennan. Any of this make any sense?chuck wagon wrote:Thanks Goodman. Thought that's what you were referring to.
