Setlist JB@JB

PHJim

As I recall, the intermission ended with the recorded version of "Schoolboy Heart", in it's entirety. Where I come from, that makes the list. :-)

Coast or Coastal?

Firstly, it was the first Jones Beach performance of any tune on LTC. If I'm not havin a senior moment, I think it was the first time the CRB did Coastal Confessions on the summer tour.

Lost Verse lost on Margaritaville.com

Hey I'm killing time here before we head out but last nite at the Jones Beach show when Jimmy did the "natioinal anthem" I wondered if he'd do the so-called "lost verse". He didn't. BTW at the official song lyrics for Margaritaville.com the lyrics for "you had to be there&qu...

JB @ JB - Still Kickin ass!

As Jimmy said "Fifty -seven" and still kickin ass". That's him not Heinz catchup. While I thought his voice was a touch off, the setlist was solid as were the performances. Where would he be without Peter Mayer? Two encores including Southern Cross, some material I hadn't heard in a w...

Death of an Unpopular poet

With all due respect to a fellow fan of the first great JB album I don't see anything autobiographical about this tune. I think it was inspired by the death of Ken Patchett(?) whose works JB must have been familiar with. Jimmy was perhaps a touch of unpopular in Down to Earth and High Cumberland Jub...

Google is the Oracle

My search convinces me the venue of the song was Great Britain. Good result since I'd have hated to miss the site if it was in Frisco.

Google Schmoogle

While I was walkin round Frisco I spied a trolley with the name "Grosvenor". Hence I deduce there's likely a venue in Frisco with said name.

Last year Jimmy did "Hotel Room" on Saturday nite in Tinley, so I'm not sure why he feels he's ignoring Steve's music. As you probably know, every time they shout "Go Cubs Go" it's a tip of the hat to Goodman.
I prefer Steve's version of The Dutchman to Jerry Jeff's.

Where is Grosvenor Sq?

I accept that it's in London but can't it be in San Francisco too? There's a Rome in NY and a Paris in Texas.

Where in the World is Grosvenor Square?

The Mrs & I were in San Francisco last week. We ambled up to Haight-Ashbury and over to a store called Positively Haight-Ashbury. We hoped to buy tshirts there for the kids. I had the LTC tune- Scarlet Begonias in my head (the store is not surprisingly a tribute to Jerry & the Dead). Figured...

JB Tips Cap to Goodman

I read that Jimmy tipped his cap (Cubs) to Steve Goodman with "Banana Republic" last week in Tinley Park/Tweeter Center. Was the song that made me a permanent fan.

Brother Bear

I thought it was buddy bear. Can I get a check on that my buffett brothers? He took two steps backwards and didn't know what to think. Neither did I, but, being charitable and cautious, well hell, I approached him again. I said, "Mr. Bear, you know in the eyes of the Lord, we're both beasts whe...

I'm thinkin Gonzo Stew and JJW covering The Cape by Guy Clark. I like the duet with Django but I think the lyrics need a little work.
