Ummm....isn't that November 5th??? :o :o One of my neatest travel experiences ever was flying from London to Geneva on that evening in 2003. It was after dark and clear and I swear every pub in England was setting off fireworks. From ground level to some 30,000 feet and across the Channel I watched....

And there's a track with the Neville Brothers, I believe.

It's nice to see things didn't get too boring in this thread since I last visited... :o   My thoughts having read the last few pages: I'm glad people respectfully share their varying perspectives on Buffett -- whether positive and negative -- it keeps things interesting and shows they care...

I find it funny that people are using supply and demand and other economic principles in their comments in this thread. There are many constants in the Buffett economic model. The most important being that, let's face it, no matter what the price of the show is, Buffett IS GOING TO SELL OUT. [Save ...

Or, Jimmy could just open auction every ticket. I'd bet the average price would go up significantly and then it would be the fans' fault vs. Jimmy's.

The bottom line for me as a concert goer is that $126 for good seats is far too much. I'll be supporting the groups that actually make the effort to keep ticket prices down, unfortunately Buffett doesn't fall into that category. The key phrase there is "for me". That's you're opinion, and...

I think the point is that Jimmy COULD lower them if he wanted. Bob Seger sold out very quickly and his most expencive was $74. And the insurance argument is kinda silly. You cant tell me that the insurance company charges greatwoods more for Buffett than OzzFest? Bottom line is the performers could...

Misused words...

"Notoriety" is the one I hear most often these days In fact on last night's news the mayor of Indianapolis said "the Colts in the Super Bowl will bring notoriety to the city." :o Per Dictionary.com: Notoriety: the state of being known for some unfavorable act or quality (as in no...

ticket prices are set by supply and demand 101 not socialism 101 Thank you. I didn't think it was that difficult to understand. You guys are right on...a market is made up of all consumers, each of who places their own value (or affordability) on each item they buy. It's not one individual's perspe...

What a bizzarre deal...and totally rediculous for there to be any official gathering arranged around this. If people want to "celebrate" personally that's a different matter. It just shows how warped our federal policies have continued to be regarding Cuba. By failing to move on as a count...

I sometimes wonder if some of these people are real...kinda like on the Maury Povich and Jerry Springer shows. If all of these people are real then the world is a much scarier place than I've generally given it credit for. :o :-?

Jimmy is certainly doing a lot of advertising if that is the case.. Also, if Landshark is going to replace Corona there must be plans for wider distribution.. Jimmy is in it for the $$$ It's a business deal; of course it's for the dollars. What's wrong with that?? :-? The price looks about comparab...

It helps me to go for a walk or run, stretch, work in the yard or get a change of scenery (drive, travel)...sometimes these things help me to vent and take my mind off of worries and other times they help me to think through what's going on and get a different perspective. The Super Bowl is not about football OR fans, it's about money. TV time during the superbowl is the highest $ it is all year cause it's watched by probably 1 billion people this year. The act has to rent the venue. Hmmm...I'd never heard that before. I always thought all facility costs came out of the venue's portion of the gate, concession sales, other fees, etc. So you're saying Jimmy pays to rent a facility out of his 85-90%? Does that mean he pays all of the other "vari...
