Here's my perspective...they "woke up" for the lower tier acts, and this gives them some good PR. The big draws (e.g. Buffett), however, are getting more expensive than ever...we're clearly subsidizing the lower-priced acts. The venues (Clear Channel) have decided to get it where they can....

well thanks for the answers. i know that some artist riders state that they get 100% of the gate, etc. just didn't know if "gate" was the same thing as the total amount of tickets sold. sorry for asking such a personal question. I can't imagine any artist gets 100% of gate (total revenue)...
