Hey UK fan, welcome to the world of all things Buffett! I knew of Buffett for years but didn't "get it" until seeing him live a couple of years ago. It's been a great ride since then. I enter your survey at 42, which works just fine. I love the very British sounding "appreciation soci...

Let me further add confusion...because I am confused. Since Conan airs at 12:30 am eastern time, is Jimmy on tonight (12:30 am the 3rd) or on tomorrow night (12:30 am the 4th). My guess is it's tomorrow night as that's still the 3rd for the rest of the country but the 4th for the eastern zone. A lit...

Sounds like tough timing for the Buffett concert. If they've got data proving violations, the concert will likely be toast unless an agreement between the neighborhood and venue could be reached to allow the concert to go on (doubtful). Well, if it does get cancelled, I'd recommend a parking lot par...

I'd agree that neither is a big risk taker today -- established fan and asset bases. I'm really referring to Jimmy back when he was in his 30's and what he was doing was establishing vs. contributing a genre.

I doubt it; it'll be similar to Fenway last year where that replaced Great Woods. That's my guess.

I believe what he meant is that Kenny is taking a different musical turn that some of his fans may not get/like. Again, why does it always have to be a competition? I agree. To me, it is completely obvious that there is a greater risk to Kenny's departure from country than Jimmy's departure from......

Chesney takes bigger risks than Buffett???

This will probably stir the pot again... and I'm really not that anti-Chesney (I watched and enjoyed the "Be as You Are special" on CMT the other night), but this type of article (from CNN) truly annoys me. Chesney is seen as a great risk-taker in that he does something different when he's...

  "This is a special type of fan, a more mature audience I think." I don't think I've ever heard the Buffett crowds called mature! Where are they getting their info? I'm not complaining - they can believe what they want! :D I suppose it depends on one's definition of "matur...

I've been to KW, Orlando, and NO. I like the fact that they're all a bit different and have a local "feel". The Lone Palm airport and volcano in Orlando were fun, and the NO place is great (tire swing bar and balcony). KW just is. I guess I just have to do more research....

I've got everything done since 1985 and YHTBT. I've been procrastinating in building my collection going further back in hopes that there will be this miraculous change and the lyrics, art, photos, etc. for all of the earlier CDs will be included -- and remastering wouldn't hurt, either.

Joe Merchant is fun and a good read, but ASPOL has more layers to it. I agree that JB has become a better writer. A Pirate Looks at 50 is also a great read for anyone who hasn't gotten there yet.

How can we get TATS to #1 on CMT?

The TATS video has reached #2 on CMT and it would be great to help give it a push to #1...problem is, I'm not sure how to do it. I know you can vote online for GAC videos, but I haven't been able to figure out CMT. Anybody know so we can get it to #1? It's a great video.

The Ticket Game

The following article (from the Chicago Tribune) talks about the games that are played with tickets (fans, scalpers, artists) and a U2 mess. I know there has been previous discussion about Margaritaville.com potentially having an annual charge, and many said "ok" if it helps them get good ...
Cubs fans are funny.
We try; we have to have some way to amuse ourselves. Shipping Sosa off to Baltimore would be a start. Anyway, my plan is to do both (following a trip to Vegas in April). MSU#1 was a bit on the negative side (pretty much about everything); half of it is...
