Does anybody know of a local PH chapter in Hawaii? It would be weird to start a show with anything less than a true PH party. If not, perhaps all of us here could arrange something. I don't think there is one..... but as someone pointed out last year, why do they need one? They're LIVING the beach ...

Re: Hawaii vs Vegas ?

I'm in a quandry and hoping for some advice.... Having never been to a JB concert before, I was estatic to get decent seats to Vegas but...now that I see a Honolulu date posted, I'm tempted to unload my Vegas tickets and go to Hawaii. What are some thoughts as to which venue will host the better ev...

Re: more commentary on KC v. JB

Even mentioning Springsteen's "Nebraska" in the same breath as a Chesney cd shows how ignorant the music labels have become. Springsteen's album stands as one of the most important moments in rock and roll. It is an integral piece of rock and roll history in America on the same level as th...

I would love to have seen Garth live. I like him. But I am a music fan I like all types. Have seen lots of shows. My favorite live show is Buffett. But right up there is KISS. If you like rock and roll, man what a high energy show! 8) I saw Garth with Trisha Yearwood back in 1991. He was just relea...

Re: Jimmy for GOVERNOR???

Florida hasn't exactly proven to be anything close to intelligent with their voting the last few years. If his name was really close to Rich White Bush on the ballot, the voters might accidently punch the wrong chad again. Maybe Jimmy could make a difference. Saving the Everglades and a state tax to...

The biggest surprise to me since visiting this board is the amount of people listening to mainstream country. Those of us that aren't as fond of mainstream country may be in the minority here but we do exist. I've always related Buffett more to the artists that I considered his peers in the 70s suc...

Parrotheads will not be a big part of Chesney's fan base. Sure, there are parrotheads that are country music fans and thus will really dig what the guy is doing. But non country fans are not going jump on the KC bandwagon in mass as some people here seem to think they will. He will never have the p...

Re: Chesney takes bigger risks than Buffett???

This will probably stir the pot again... and I'm really not that anti-Chesney (I watched and enjoyed the "Be as You Are special" on CMT the other night), but this type of article (from CNN) truly annoys me. Chesney is seen as a great risk-taker in that he does something different when he'...

Jimmy has enough of a fan base that he could do mail order tickets like the Grateful Dead used to. I know there are block reserved for the PHCs, but it sure worked well when the Dead did it. At least make the PHC's a higher ticket priority. The Denver club seemed to get awful seats the last few yea...

I wouldn't mind being on the beach right now. It is too cold here in Indiana. Should have joined me today, went twice: http://homepage.mac.com/cowboyjunkie/PhotoAlbum32.html Really gave Far Side of the World a good spin today. Better than I remembered it. Maybe it's time to dust off Beach Hou...

Re: 3 Songs You Wouldn't Want To Hear Jimmy Play Again

Okay, this may be even harder than the 3 Songs Concert thread...but they are out there. And if this has been discussed before..I apologize What 3 songs could you do without? 1. Margaritaville - Best bathroom break song though. Never a line. 2. WDWGDAS - Every creation is stale lately. 3. Elvis Imit...

Just checked it out on i-Tunes. The line between well drawn metaphor and obvious cliche is hard to miss. Chesney seems to have missed it completely. Writing a song like "Island Boy" is a great example. Nothing better can be expected from Nashville and it will turn a huge profit. Chesney's...

I'd rather miss a show. Scalpers are scum and ticket brokers are even worse because they act like they're not scalpers. Then thank god you don't because those of us with great seats from a 2 minute transaction are having a good time. I cannot imagine a more ridiculous comment Mr. Lenin. Your a dumb...
