Re: TACO TUESDAY @ THE MSC
When we were down in the Bay Area, we spent the first 3 nights in SF and then spent Sunday night in Santa Clara so that we could visit Mrs SPH's 94-year-old mom before flying home out of SJC. Sunday night we stayed at the Hyatt next door to the Santa Clara Convention Center. When we were checking in...

Turkey Tacos here! Warmed up flour tortillas, home-made guacamole, pepperjack cheese.... really more burritos than tacos, but same stuff! We were down in San Francisco over the weekend again, Mrs SPH went wedding dress shopping with she-keet bride-to-be Nicole. [smilie=battingeyes.gif] We got a tour...

Re: French Fry WED @ the MSC
It kinda depends... Usually with ketchup (catsup?) but if I'm at a Fish 'n Chips place I might have tartar sauce and I'll dip them in BBQ sauce when I'm in that kind of establishment. If they are really good fries, I'll eat them sans condiments.

Washington state doesn't have an Income Tax (1 of 7 states that doesn't) but instead has a 6.5% Sales Tax; municipalities then add their bite, 3.75% in Seattle's case. Not applicable to groceries, but pretty much everything else.bodypainter wrote:10% sales tax? Man, that is painful, mel.

I was at the local lumber yard to get some wood for a project. The cashier asked if I was eligible for a discount and I shrugged. He asked if I was a contractor or a senior. I said I was 72, so I was probably eligible. He rang it up and the total was $110.... I was buying about $100 worth of wood an...

... Three steps from the door to street level. I don't know if I tripped, or misjudged the first step or even if my knee buckled and pitched me off-balance - i do know that it most certainly wasn't that i'd been imbibing - but I ended up going down and landing like a sack of hammers. It sounds like...

Re: Last FRIDAY in June @ the MSC
Ok, I'll ask. What is a pop-out? A fly ball is a ball hit into the air (vs. a ground ball , one hit on the ground). A pop fly is a fly ball hit nearly vertically into the air, usually within the infield. If a batter hits a fly ball that is caught by an outfielder he is said to have flied-out and if...

Crazy ending to last night’s Mariners at Oakland ball game. After beating the A’s 8-2 and 9-0 the first two games, last night the M’s bats were dead and the A's had a no-hitter going until there were 2 outs in the 8th inning. Going into the 9th, the A’s were leading 1-0. In the top of the 9th inning...

Here in the Upper LH Corner at 47°36′22″ N, sunrise today was at 5:11 am and sunset will be at 9:10 pm. That means 15 hours and 59 minutes of daylight… more than double the 7 hours and 35 minutes that we had on the Winter Solstice.
