Has anybody ever painted a rough plaster celing? I have one of those "popcorn" celings. I had thought about just leaving them and not painting them, but I really want to get rid of the smoke smell in the house. I would bet painting those would help. Any thoughts? What do I use to paint th...

My biggest problem (actually, I have many, many problems with PETA, but that's a tirade in and of itself) is that so many of the members, and those who say they represent the organization, are so visibly hypocritical, that's its almost comical. They'll stand in front of you (I've had a couple of unf...

I think the do-ability of it all depends on a) where it would be, and after that, b)how many people would be committing to putting up the money and attending that venue. Where it would be would be the deciding factor for a lot of people, I think. For me and those who would go with me, we would proba...

Re: When Did you find JB?

I can't even remember a time when I didn't listen to JB. My dad has always been a big fan, and I always heard him around the house, in the car, etc. I remember the great filling station holdup being one of the first songs I ever knew. Actually, I think I knew JB songs better than I ever knew any kid...

Sy, that looks really good. One of the reasons I'm dealing with the ceiling is i've never been happy with the way I edged the last paint job. Thanks:) It was my easy and fairly cheap way of making sure you couldn't see my bad edging in the bigger rooms of the house. In the one room where I did a pa...

Yep. Nekkid is a phunny word!! Whenever I hear the word nekkid I always think of Larry the Cable Guy. Having had a long history or depression and associated disorders, I always find movies and comedy seem to help. That and green tea. For some reason, that always relaxes me. Though starting a busine...

Re: Painting

I hate it. But my sons' graduate in 3 weeks and I want my whole place painted, including a couple kitchen cabinets. I'm going to take some time off from work to do it. Any tips. I can never seem to get the ceiling line neat even with tape. And I"m a bit worried about tackling the kitchen cabin...

Re: Flamingo Buffet in Vegas

I was eating dinner at the Flamingo buffet the other day and noticed that about every fifth song they piped in was one of Jimmy's. Some that you don't hear very often like "When The coast is Clear" Ect. Good move on the Flamingos part. It seems like they play pretty much the same list of ...

The 1st cookbook had 300 recipes. Two questions: (1) Are there enough of you interested in a 2nd cookbook to round up 300 ADDITIONAL ones to DOUBLE the size . . . think about this before answering. . . we had a hard time coming up with 300. SGH and SpringParrot went all out, as did my mom, and came...

As for fundraising........how about ebay? Whether is's "stuff" we have around the house or we get it donated from the likes of corona, m'ville etc..... - no this won't give us major $$ but it's a start. We could even write Mr. Buffett himself and ask him to donate/autograph "stuff&qu...

Wow, this isn't going to happen for a long time, at least until next summer or in 2 summers. We are probably going to have to make a council with a Pres., VP, Treasurer, Secretary, etc. There probably should be monthly meetings (at least in a chat room), with minutes from the meeting posted. One id...

I'm 30 and just never knew a time without Jimmy Buffett. My dad has loved him since he started putting out albums, and I've always grown up with him. Kind of a special bond I have with my dad :) Can't wait to take him to his first Buffett concert this year. Funny how he's never been to one, but he's...
