Re: Retirement???

If you go through this forum and look at the posts around this time each year for the past 5 (at least) you will find similiar "is Jimmy retiring" threads. Nothing to worry about. He'll keep touring as long as he sells out and has sponsors. Geritol, Depends and Medicare may be the sponsors...

I don't normally read biographies on women, but the review in the WSJ moved me. Very interesting so far.

Re: Keith Moon asked to perform at the Olympics

Says something about the current music scene when dead musicians and 60-70 yr old band members are asked to perform at major events and geezer groups are still able to sell out large venues.

Re: media hype over so called "pink slime"

The whole pink slime thing amuses me. My initial response was hmmm...amonia, I'm not so sure I like that mixed with my meat. Then I thought about the meat industry. The animals are popped with steroids, they are also overpumped with antibiotics. In addition they are fed engineered foods. I don't wor...

Re: What are YOU reading?

in 1941, the United States Marine Corps—the last all-white branch of the U.S. military—was forced to begin recruiting and enlisting African Americans and it was about freaking time. Very interesting read full of interview transcripts.

Re: El Conquistador in Puerto Rico

There are a lot of great things to see in PR if you are willing to be adventurous. Rio Camuy caves - Very well done. Well worth the trip. If you go to old san Juan, the Barcardi factory is close. I have a hard time spending a day in OSJ. Also El Morro is better than san cristobal if you are touring ...

Re: Will "Don't Stop the Carnival" ever come back to the stage?

Probably won't see in in NYC ever. I doubt that it would have the staying power. It could show up on a cruise ship or possibly a buffett licensed casino, but i doubt that anyone would ever spend the money to produce it again. It's a fun story with good music, it would be a great show for HS drama gu...

Re: IF YOU GET A CALL FROM 502-873-0294

Those guys just keep changing up numbers. next week it will be a new phone number. I talk to them, give them fake addresses and SS #'s ask them what they are wearing, tell them I'm not wearing any underwear, they eventually get disgusted and hang up.

Re: Kobayashi Wins!!

Oh, they have judges that inspect the wing bones to make sure they are clean after eatin' and to add to the disturbing list... 4. That 125 "women" (mostly strippers) competed for the title of Miss Wingette. Yes, I believe bonus points were given for scarcity of costume and possibly "s...

Kobayashi Wins!!

For those of you outside of the Philadelphia area you missed a classic this morning Nom Nom Nom PHILADELPHIA - Takeru Kobayashi, often called the greatest competitive eater of all time, set a new record Friday at Wing Bowl 20, the annual chicken wing-eating contest in this city. In his first year of...

Re: Mac McAnally has lived the good life thanks to Buffett

I agree that being a Reefer has been a benefit for him, but I also think that Mac would have found a great deal of success on his own.......what a talent! :pirate: This. Every single reefer has enough talent to make it on their own. I'm not sayin' the summer gig hasn't made life easier but Buffet d...

I always liked his filler stuff with chris elliott and his oddities. The velcro suit, the alka seltzer suit, suit of magnets, rice krispie suit. He was definitely better before he got all political and stuff.

Wow just wow. I wasn't a fan of R&B when he was hot, but he is truly a legend. He opened doors for a lot of bands that would have most likely not made it. Very sad.

Re: Does anyone out there own a college rental?

I guess it depends on the condition and location. It's working for a friend in baltimore right now, but they were willing to pay big dollars for a house in very good condition. They also did the rehab on their own, are handling the rent collection from the others and are depending on their daughter ...

Re: North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, 69, has died

It is a shame North Korea is the greatest modern day tragedy, yet the entire world, free and communist, sits by and watches as millions suffer under this regime. I'm not saying we should send free food there (we shouldn't), but I find it difficult to understand how so many can be left to suffer at t...

Surely there is a landfill you could visit in CO instead of Philly. Really NYC & DC great destinations, Philly, blech. Of course I'm biased, I live near the cesspool.
