It would take some initial setup/development by phjim and then input from all of us, but I think it would be cool to include a user map showing where everyone at BN is located. Sort of like the Google tour map we have now, but it lets individual users put in their locations and save them to the map.

Neat idea...that could be an "index" page of sorts ejr could add...perhaps she could update a map electronically (via return addresses) as people submit their pages. :) Given the geographer and historian Jimmy is, he'd enjoy that.

And if needed, I'm sure I could help insure this gets to Jimmy.

That would only show the locations of people who send in pages. Something like this map would show all BN'ers who input their locations, whether they send something for the scrapbook or not. The more locations the better IMO, since the scrapbook is a representation of us all. It would also be less work for ejr, who will be pretty busy compiling everything.

I am going to admit that I didn't read all the previous posts so if this concern has been addressed, just let me know where to look.

First, I am a "scrapper", and the first instructions/ideas have me a bit worried. Mainly the "front and back" of a page. For those out there like Bill who has Debbie (a CM consultant) to help out and she can tell him...never mind, and she can create the page for him... People may actually create a page on the front and back of a 8x11 piece of paper.
How are you planning to adhere that into a scrapbook? One side would be lost. When I think of scrapbook I don't think of using page protectors that you use for a report. But being a CM customer, you either decorate directly onto the scrapbook page - or onto a piece of paper that will be attached w/ adhesive to a scrapbook page.

I just don't want someone to put alot of work into something and part of it get ruined!

I scrap too, not sure how you are putting this together. Do you want one sheet, both sides done or can we send in just two sheets? Too bulky? Should we make it just like a scrap page with real photos and such? thanks :D

We certainly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and THANK YOU for the scrapbooking offers!! But since this is going to Jimmy . . it seems he will very much appreciate the " home-grown ", not-so-perfect offering from his not-so-perfect phans . . that is purely for " entertainment purposes, only ".

This is a scrapbook like each of us grew up with and it's a good guess he has/had one very much like it . . .

. .want to recap the info/ideas we have so far . .since I know they have been sprinkled thru-out this thread. .

. . the scrapbook concept was to allow any BN'er to submit one standard size page ( using front and/or back ) . .that would be placed in a sheet protector and separated from the next entry with a piece of colored paper . .

. . entries are only limited to your expertise and creativity . . only no bulky or loose items will be allowed . .

. . submit your entry to ejr ( Ellen ) before Nov. 1, 2006 to insure we can physically get it into Jimmy's hands before his special day . .

. . and one final thought . . entries will be placed in the scrapbook as received . .Ellen and Tiki Bar are going to assemble as a team, and are ready to start filling the book . . . .! !

. .so, get those parrot-thoughts going. . and mail ASAP . . !!

. .we'll continue to update as we go . . but for now, we ask for the pages to start rolling in . . .again . ." first in, first seen " . .! !

. . and thanks for all the interest . .

Just remember.. the scrapbook itself isn't a secret gift since we've posted it here, obviously. ;) But the contents will be, so we don't wanna give away too many of your ideas of what you're gonna do. 8)

And again, this isn't too extravigant - folks will send in 1 sheet of paper - be it photo paper, card stock, or something similar - 8 1/2 x 11 in size, that we'll put into a sheet protector so both sides can be seen. You can write something, or have photo's on it, whatever it is, it just needs to be flat. :)

My mailbox and I eagerly await your entries :D :D :D

And we really want this book to be a reflection of your creativity and personalities rather than our artistic abilities (which for some of us is most limited!)

Can't wait to see what all of you come up with!!!!!!
