Houston, TX is the 4th largest city in the US, but our TV market doesn't even make the top 10. In population, our metro area dwarfs Atlanta, Detroit, and Philadelphia. But our media market is lackluster. As a result I can run tv spots on Oprah in the afternoon for 1/2 the rate as I can run on Oprah in San Francisco.
So what you're saying is the people of Houston have enough sense not to drink the Kool-Aid Oprah's giving to all the gullible suckers in other parts of the country.
Man I wish. My tivo is filled with 6 weeks worth of Oprah episodes
I think those stats just mean that Houstonians are so busy eating that they can't look up from their plate to watch TV.
It always bothered me when he'd play two shows in Cincy, Indy and Chicago and not go to St. Louis. Half the people at theses shows are there both nights, why not spread it out more? But he's not doing two shows much anymore.
Well in previous years he played two chicago, one alpine and one indy, which is four shows with a five hour drive from the farthest to the farthest (no more than 2 1/2 hours for me) He has slowed down, but one in each this year is good. I just feel bad for Boise.

It's frustrating to see that he's playing 2 days at Gillette Stadium in Mass. which holds 68,756 plus seats on the field. Nissan Pavillion in VA holds 25,000 and gets only one show.
It's hard to accept that with 25,000 tickets, I couldn't get 4.

Jimmy spends alot of time out here in Nantucket and the Vineyard. Alot. Look at half the letters he writes fan like in Salty Piece of Land or the current Coconut Telegraph . . . he signs them from the Vineyard or Cape Cod or Nantucket or off the coast of Maine. He knows the people here. We know him. There is a great sailing and beach culture out here. So, yeah, hate to say it - but he does like us better. Move.
