Some place like Lulu's or the Sag Harbor benefits or the Belly Up in Aspen with only about 300 people and all the seats close enough to the stage so you could see if he had spinach stuck in his teeth. Some place where he "sings" rather than "entertains".

cincy is pretty sweet because of the amount of tailgating and just sheer size. but truly anywhere is a great place to see jimmy. [imgsize=]http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... 1504620124[/imgsize]

The Belly Up in Aspen would have been very nice. I was there just a few days before he played there last time and didn't hear anything about it until later.
It is funny in Aspen, they don't talk much about Jimmy, and you will be hard pressed to get any of the unbelievable local musicians to even think about playing any of his music. Never could figure that out because anywhere else in Colo ski country it is the the norm, maybe that is why not in Aspen, oh well.

As far as best venue, other than my first show at the Starlight , I would have to vote for Alpine Valley. To me it is because it is out beside the cow pastures, and Wisconsin just knows how to have fun LOL

Red Rocks would be a very special place for sure, maybe some day he will play there. I saw him at Fiddlers Green many times and I don't know why he hasn't played there for a while, maybe it isn't there anymore I guess I haven't looked, but he would generally sell out 2 shows there.

But my vote goes to Alpine and for sure no indoor venues for me. The sound was perfect at Alpine the last 2 years anyway. The band was as tight as any band could be. But I sit beside the sound board just for the sound.

1st concert .. Starlight amphitheater Kansas City 1982 .. Bonnie Raitt opened .. the rest is history !

I guess it's "to each his own" because that's exactly why I love Alpine. No traffic hassels (if you're willing to wait before leaving the parking lot after the show) and not in the middle of the city.

My vote goes to anywhere you are lucky enough to be where Jimmy is performing at the time, front row or lawn. I would love to be at Jones Beach sometime soon tho or LV again.

It's got to be Jones Beach! in the higher seats you can listen to Jimmy and gaze upon the beach and see the ocean. Also, it's only about 8 miles away for me so that is a big plus. I get to set up the tiki bar again there this year!!

Part of the show in st barths was watching jimmy surf in lorient, watching him at baz bar, and again at the show for le select, being able to walk right up to the stage, and hanging out with Mac on the beach at St. Jean. Could never imagine a show like that again!!!!

I've been lucky enough to go to 15 shows, but I'm biased toward Walnut Creek/Verizon outdoor theatre in Raleigh, NC. Have caught several shows there and it never disappoints. Lakewood in ATL is good too. Oh hell, anywhere seeing Jimmy is good!!!!!!!!!!!
