supposedly it was being held up by Herman Wouk still drawing breath. Am guessing that now, it's turned into a far back-burner project with the casinos and the like.

I wonder if Herman Wouk was happy with the way the play turned out. I noticed that in his latest book "The Language God Talks" on the page where they list Fiction, NonFiction and plays, they list "Don't Stop the Carnival" as a book, and "The Traitor", The Caine Mutiny Court Martial" and "Nature's Way" as plays, but they don't say anything about DSTC as a play. In the introduction to "Don't Stop the Carnival", Wouk talks kind of positively about them getting together and working on the play. That was dated 1998 though.

Probably won't see in in NYC ever. I doubt that it would have the staying power. It could show up on a cruise ship or possibly a buffett licensed casino, but i doubt that anyone would ever spend the money to produce it again. It's a fun story with good music, it would be a great show for HS drama guilds to perform.
