I've seen some pretty good sized alligators in the state park, but not that big.lime rickie wrote: ↑April 10, 2021 5:26 pmYou know what else you have in SC? Big, old, canine serial killer alligators. This guy had a dog license in his belly and the owner confirmed the dog went missing during a hunting trip 24 years ago.LIPH wrote: ↑April 10, 2021 4:39 pm The laundry is done and it never did rain so I went to the park for a walk. We have a lot of big old pine trees in South Carolina, which means we have a lot of pine cones on the ground. I've seen pine cones before but some of these things are almost as big as footballs.

Had a video call with all 3 of the girls and now I'm ready to crawl back into bed for the evening
Hoping that we are given the green light for getting sprung out of here tomorrow.

Now, that is a good story!Rabbitz wrote: ↑April 10, 2021 5:10 pmThat reminds me of a day, way back in the mid-eighties, back when I was crew on the Surf Rescue Jet Boats. (I may have shared this before).bodypainter wrote: ↑April 10, 2021 4:28 pm Hi there!
I ran my aground and sucked rocks into my frill. (( I realize that could make for all types of innuendos)
My boat's jet motor has a grill over the impeller to protect it. I had to wade in 55 degree water to get the rocks out. Glad I wore shortys.
One of our jobs was that when there was a confirmed shark sighting we'd be deployed to locate the animal and using the boat herd it away from the swimming areas.
One day we were doing this just outside the break at Queenscliff Beach. Now one of the enemies of a Jet Unit are plastic bags. The solution is to dive overboard, swim under the boat and pull the bag/s out of the intake grille.
Needless to say, while herding this shark away from the beach we picked up a plastic bag and the boat stopped. There was a bit of a discussion and as I was the designated swimmer that day it fell to me to clear the intake. The shark was still visible but we had to act as we were drifting into the surf break.
I donned my fins and leapt off the port side, swam under the boat, cleared the intake, surfaced on the starboard side and launched myself back into the boat.
I swear I did it so fast that my hair didn't even get wet
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good evening boys and girls.
Had a wonderful visit with Mom. Ate too much good food. Had beautiful weather. Nearly ready for bed from all that.

Were you given the green light or do we need to get a 'break out' group together?

Well actually we're going to need to break out Monday. Had to get some go go juice (hemoglobin) today which should clear the escape routes.tailgaitingph wrote: ↑April 11, 2021 8:16 pmWere you given the green light or do we need to get a 'break out' group together?
