Linguine WEDNESDAY @ the MSC
Good Morning!
It's National Linguine Day......who will celebrate?
On September 15th, National Linguine Day fills the dinner menu at home and restaurants across the country.
From the Liguria region of Italy, linguine means “little tongues” in Italian. Made from durum semolina flour, linguine is one of the world’s oldest kinds of pasta. Fettuccine and linguine both developed around 400 years ago. While both are thin, flat noodles, linguine is narrower and more elliptical in shape. As a result, linguine produces a more delicate pasta. To avoid breakage, pair linguine with thinner, lighter sauces.
However, lighter sauces don’t limit linguine’s flavor profile. In fact, linguine recipes offer a wide variety of sauces. Whether you prefer spicy pasta or seafood, linguine offers a nice base. It compliments herb and butter sauces nicely, too. When adding fresh vegetables, linguine allows the bright colors to shine. Pesto lovers rave over linguine. Another ingredient that favors linguine is earthy mushrooms.
I don't know how long I will work today; Still in the work slump. Took off tomorrow to meet daughter & SIL's movers while they buy their new house at 9 and then sell their old house at 2. Unlike us who were "homeless" for a few hours in-between selling/buying several times over our 38 yr marriage, they will actually own 2 homes for a short while.
We leave at 5:30 a.m. on Friday for our Covid-postponed trip to Florida. We will be in Sarasota with a BN couple that we met here & then in person in Great Woods back in 2013. Can't wait.

Good Morning Linda....BN’ers to come.
Not a pasta connoisseur, but fan of any & all kinds.
Linda, Hopefully your Florida getaway will recharge the batteries for you & Kevin, enjoy!
2 weeks from today I’ll be heading to Playa Del Carmen & hoping like crazy it will do that for me.

Good morning Linda. Nice to read you are getting away. I'm looking forward to seeing friends at Cleveland more than the concert.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning BNers.
Occurs yearly on the 24th of the month of April.
Maybe we can rally for this to be a monthly "holiday"

Good morning. I just heard a commercial on the radio, there's a chili cookoff in town this weekend. It's Friday-Sunday from 11:00am to 6:00pm all 3 days. I have Pelicans games Friday and Sunday but my calendar is open Saturday. Chili and a beer garden, I may have to go.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

The Paper Chase was on TV yesterday. There's a scene where Prof. Kingsfield calls a student up to the front of the class, reaches into his pocket, takes out a dime and says "Here's a dime. Call your mother and tell her there's serious doubt about your becoming a lawyer." When I was in law school, one of my professors took a quarter out of his pocket and told one of my classmates "Here's a quarter. Go call your parents and tell them you don't belong in law school." I guess he saw The Paper Chase.

While in boot camp, if a recruit had a complaint, an instructor would yell, "Gotta dime? Call someone up who gives a f...!"
Who's got the rum?
