I searched on the word "Scooter" and there's a zillion posts - and it went back to 2000 - no mention that I could find (I gave up) on what he hit while driving in KW.. He still took me out for my first oysters the day after it happened. He was one of my "sons" here.. along with Al..

When I first joined BN, I was such a computer newbie. I could barely get a post to stick.
But then Z took me under his wing and taught me to post pictures and COLOR!!!!

I am trying
I was watching the Kenny Rogers special and had to change to the Astros game. The songs were too sad.
Ya'll remember the dancing letters?

I absolutley wish you the best of luck. I'm just now leaving ATL after many delays then cancellation (in RIC) and a rebooked flight. Had made for a very long day.Saltx3 wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 3:28 pm On our way to our last Sarasota meal before heading to the airport. What a great first vacation in over 2 years . Beautiful weather AND great times with 4 Bners!
Back home there are severe storms and flash floods.
Bets on getting stuck in the Charlotte airport due to bad weather in our home airport in Harrisburg, Pa?

We used to live about 15 minutes from one, and I work about 15 minutes from it now - we always liked their beers and food. We went there with Jeanie (without Doc) in 2019 when she was here in CO.

Re: Show Day THURSDAY@ the MSC
He was out on North Roosevelt on a beautiful Saturday morning. I believe a lady in a minivan turned in front of him and he had to lay the scooter down. He showed up back at the Casa with a lump on his collarbone (sure looked broken to us laypeeps) and a big scrape on his shoulder blade. He refused to go to the ER. Later that day he was having trouble breathing and one of the guys gave him an ultimatum: "Dave, we're all too drunk to drive you to the ER. I'm calling an ambulance or a cab, you decide." So off they went in a cab to the ER. Many hours later he returned, the ER having declared he had a cracked collarbone.springparrot wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 7:43 pmI wasn't there either but I think that was the start of the story.....MICHIPHIN wrote: ↑September 23, 2021 7:36 pmI wasn't there. I made as far as the Hilton in Fort Lauderdale, but National Car Rental wouldn't rent me the car without a driver's license. Dave was going to drive all the way to pick me up, but I declined his invite and just hung at the hotel for a few days and made reservations to go back home. It was on that trip that he rented the scooter and crashed. I think he hit a light pole, wasn't it?
After MOTM, Dave flew home, and during an MSC chat on Wednesday (the old days, with 50 pages a day), he was asked if he'd seen a doc yet. Um, no. So peer pressure was applied and he went to the ER. We didn't hear from him for several hours, during which Dave discovered he did indeed have a broken collarbone... and a broken leg... and THIRTEEN broken ribs! And thus, the Legend of Scooterboy was born.
