By my calendar we are barely halfway through summer.
It's going to be hot for another 6 weeks or so.

We went in July and year before UniversalStudios in July. Drove both times. Only 14 to 16 hour trip.

It was supposed to rain today but so far it hasn't and the heat index was only 97 so I decided to go walk around Broadway at the Beach. I stopped in a sports bar that I've never been to, I thought it would a good place to get out of the heat and have a frosty beverage. I sat at the bar, there were only 5 other people there, and waited. And waited, and waited ... After about 5 minutes it was time to leave. If they don't want my money, I'll spend it someplace else.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Those calendars don't work well here. I went into three home decorating stores today. Summer was on clearance and orange and brown fall dust collectors lined the entrance with the smell of pumpkin spice luring the shoppers to buy pumpkin spice.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

I’m surprised the Christmas crap is not being pushed yet.

The biggest one I went into has started, just past the Halloween display.

What I don't seem to understand is, are there actually people who redecorate their home for each and every season?

The home decorating stores and mags seem to think so with 'the latest autumn colours' or 'latest spring lounge suite' and such rot.

Yep. About 8 miles from us. With all the rain we’ve had there will probably be more of these sinkholes.

We don’t redecorate but I do change out the decorations for each season. 😀
