Garden Fresh to Produce New Margaritaville Product Line

Post by phjim »

Crain's Detroit Business has an article on the maker of Margaritaville's new salsa, tortilla, and dip product line: "Salsa sales hot: Garden Fresh cooks up big deal with Margaritaville"

It's party time at Garden Fresh Gourmet Inc. On Dec. 21, Garden Fresh signed a manufacturing and production deal to produce a full line of salsa, hummus, tortillas and dips for singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Foods.

Already, Garden Fresh is distributing Margaritaville salsa nationwide to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Costco Wholesale Corp.'s Los Angeles division. It's planning to begin distribution in April to Kroger Co. and is close to an agreement with Meijer Inc.

Margaritaville Foods was established about four years ago as the consumer and packaged goods division of Orlando, Fla.-based Margaritaville Enterprises L.L.C.

I wonder if he will ever get into the nutrition supplement food for the elderly as all of us Parrot Heads slide into the sunset years? I can just see it- Salsa flavored-Ensure for your lightly toasted tortilla-flavored bread chips. Just the right thing to pick up that geriatric-appetite and guarenteed not to trigger any symptoms of dysphagia! Follow it with a Margarita-flavored chaser of Ensure (custom-thickened to your specifics needs). Perfect for those wheel chair tailgate parties in the dining room, right before bingo! :wench:
Gotta go where it's warm! And I got a little closer when I moved to LA (lower Alabama)

ground chick peas. it can be delicious or gross, depending on how it's prepared and seasoned. it's usually served with flatbread, like naan or pitas.

Something has to keep Jimmy in the lifestyle he has grown accustom to as he gets closer to retirement.

I have seen Margaritaville frozen foods at the local deep discount type store. I don't remember what it was exactly.

Garden Fresh makes a great peach-pineapple salsa, among others. Hopefully the Margaritaville line will be just as good.

Yes we always recommend Salsa to some of my friends because it's effective, and they were so happy it works and it's very nutritional food.

I make the bestest hummus ... chick peas ... lemon juice ... lotsa garlic cloves (like 4-5) ... a high quality olive oil .... and chili powder ... it's soooo yummy. And good for you! I rarely have to use salt because the result is so full of flavor. There's never a drop left. I've also a tomato in the mix and it was delicious ... turned the mixture from yellow to red and it looked as good as it tasted.

Now, I'm hungry. :-?
