Daytona Tickets

Since I'll only be living 5 hours from Daytona I considered going to the 500 next month but tickets appear to cost about $190 a piece...

HOWEVER, I recall someone making a post last year about getting ticket cheap or free or something and then getting yelled at because Daytona tickets are "so easy to get"... So smartasses, let me know how to get these cheap or free tickets to the 500.... Thanks... :D

The last couple of times I was at the pepsi 400, there were tons of scalpers on every corner.

I'm not sure if it is the same as the 500, but I would wait until right before the green flag drops and the'll be giving them away.

Make sure you dont sit on the super strech. Everyone stands the whole race and you cant see the cars until they are right infront of you and then they are going to fast to see who is who.

Hmmm... Well, that's a thought... WOrse case scenerio, we don't get tickets and we just spend the day chillin' in the bars in Daytona! I can live with that! :D :D :D

Come down for any of the speed week events during the week. $50 at the gate, crowds aren't bad , and you can sit where you want.

We usually go to the truck races on Friday; if you go all day you will see Nextel cup practices, an IROC race, and the Craftsman Truck races. The trucks are more fun to watch at Daytona than the cars, since they have no restrictor plates and can actually race.

Thing is, I'm not a NASCAR nut.. I enjoy watching and all but I don't really care to see the speed week events and stuff.. Pretty much just want to watch the actual Daytona 500....

Now that you're moving to the south, that has to change. I think it's a law that you have to like NASCAR when you live down there. I'd rather watch paint dry, but then I lead a very dull life.

I'm aware.. I've been a casual fan for a few years and I can sit and watch an entire race, but I've gotta have something else to do while it's on or I get bored... Maybe there's a "Becoming a NASCAR Fan for Dummies" book I can get... Although, I think being a dummy might be a requirement for becoming a real NASCAR fan so I should be fine...
