What entertainer did you 1st idolize?

Post by Tiki Bar »

For me, seeing a special on VH1 recently reminded me how "ga-ga" I was for Paul McCartney and the Beatles when I was a little kid. I was always captivated by Paul, and even now, and I could watch him work all day!

Another very early fav was Dean Martin! I actually wanted my mom to leave my dad and marry Dino! :o  And my siblings and family friends still make fun of my affection for "Dean Nartin novies!"  Why on earth am I sharing this??

Anyway, who are some of your early obsessions? :)

I don't think I ever idolized any entertainers, unless you consider athletes entertainers. Then it would be Willie Mays.

I can't say I ever idolized any performer but one of the first bands I remember being a fan of was Alice Cooper. Others from the same time period (early 70s) would have been Grand Funk Railroad, Lynyrd Skynyrd, that Buffett fella, Goose Creek Symphony, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, Pure Prairie League, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, the Grateful Dead, Leon Russell, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and many, many more that were soon to follow once I got my hands on magazines like Creem, Hit Parader, Circus and Rolling Stone.
