Backyard Paradise?

Post by captenuta »

I have good size yard with a large patio. Should I get a pool or hot tub?

Any tips on accessories?

I'd go with the pool! The hot tub is great, but there's not a whole lot of things better than floating on the pool drinkin' margaritas on a day when you've got nothing else to do! :D

What's the weather like where you live? Here, I'd only be able to use a pool 3 months out of the year... So I'd take the hot tub.

money is certainly the deciding factor.

I have always wanted a pool, and love ours.
If money is not a big concern, why not get a pool/spa combo?

Yep. 4-5 months if you can get it ready in May and keep it going through Sept.

Just promise me you will consider your neighbors and your health before doing that..... ask several BN'rs... my rear neighbors have one or those and it spends more time deflated and full of green slime than it does swimable...... Its an eye sore and health hazard if not maintained. Its inflatable.... it will get holes.... but if you can put it under a deck area maybe.... it would protect the sides more I would think.....

Get both a pool and a hot tub and then you don't have to worry about the BN'ers arguing about which is better.

It wont be an inflatable one trust me. My wife would rather have a hot tub so you can cover it so no little critters fall in and drown.

I really did not want to get that kind with the inflatable ring although I do want an above ground pool.
I talked to a couple people that I know with them who have had them for a few years with no problems. My backyard is fenced in with a privacy fence so no one will see it...and I can get NEKKID
My grandparents had one that did not last long because they did not level the ground well. It sorta rolled over and split wide open after about a month.
My mother had an above ground pool that used pvc pipes to support it and it lasted for a few years before she moved.
I think the problems that people have are because they do not take care of them.
Last year I was laying in my son's knee deep pool
