I think it's sort of cool actually. I'd do it, but my mom would never let me since the ashes have to be "committed." (I think that means buried in Catholicese)

You can still commit the ashes. They are going off the carbon scraping from the big bone-burning furnace. Plenty to go around!

The minimal cost is actually cheaper than a funeral.
And you get something back out of it.
I'd totally do it. :)

DKD, you're quite the gem to begin with! <3

Nah, I don't think I'd go for this.

My husband had this done for me for our two shelties that passed a couple of years ago. I was such a mess after they went, and our vet had mentioned it to him since I'm a jeweler, he thought it might be a nice way for me to always have them with me. I have two .25 carat blue stones set as a pendant.

I don't advertise what I'm wearing, but I do get a lot of compliments on it, and it makes makes me remember them fondly. I would definitely get it done again when the need arises. I have some of my former pets cremated, but it's kind of nice to always have the companion that gave you so many years of love 'with you' always.

It's not for everyone, but I really think it's a nice remembrance.
Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all..

How can you be guaranteed that you get your loved ones "scrapings"? And not those of god-knows-how-many-people (or pets)?

sweet! I was wondering if anyone else had this done.
Good to know you had great results.

I've never really been at ease with just going into the ground, so I would definitely prefer this.

Does it come in Cubic Zirconia?

I wish I had heard of these rings a few months ago. I was working with someone in Florida and saw that she had this ring with a large blue stone and the band was Silver with a very intricate design. I said "That is very pretty."

She said "Thank You, it's my Mother."
