I also mentioned to them that they are good enough to finish with a record over .500 but probably will come in third following the Yankees and Red Sox. IF Tampa finishes with a record over .500, I think they would be more of a playoff contender than they currently are and possibly get a playoff spot, but I am not sure if they will win the division or get the wild card.
I'm rooting for Tampa to finish at least in second place. That way, either the Yankees or Red Sox can't make the playoffs.

Given what I am seeing now, I'm not sure if the Yanks will make the playoffs either. I can only see one team out of the AL East making it to the playoffs.

Yankees remaining schedule is bruttle. If they make it through that schedule they truly deserve to be in it. 35 of their games left are against the Angels,Rays, Red Sox, White Sox, and Twins.

If you take the schedule and look at home vs. away games, and the records of the teams, the Red Sox have an easier schedule since most of the games now will be at Fenway. I see that the media, especially here, is starting to say if the Sox can't win on the road then then won't win the World Series.

It is now obvious that Chamberlin really wants to end Youkilis' career. Case in point, why has he been throwing at Youk's head while pitching normally against everyone else? Happened again tonight. This has been happening almost every time Chamberlin is the pitcher against the Sox.

I want to throw at Yuke. When I see his little girl scout hissy fit tantrums at the plate. . . I throw something at the TV.
Having said that. . .it sure looked like it hit him in the head. . it was close. (Scary close. . 97 mph) . . but. .Yuke has never been hit. I don't agree with the timing (1 run game) and I certainly don't agree with throwing at anyone's head. . but it doesn't make sense that he would throw at Yuke then. . Is he trying to send a message. . or does he really not like Yuke! ?? 3 times. . makes you wonder.
p.s. - Why does Giambi's stache keep changing color??
