Summer is going by too fast. . Tons of work. :-? I really, really want to go to the Old Timers game on Saturday. . (insert obvious joke that every day is Old Timers Day for the Yankees!) but I have a Live event. I missed Zuke's b-day. . :-? Happy belated Zuke! Mohegan???

WBZ-TV is reporting that AND is also reporting that three sources have told Dan Roche that this is false. Not sure which is true.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

If Manny's going to the Marlins, throw Julio Lugo in and we'll take Hanley back

I don't think other teams are that stupid to take Lugo now.

How about we pay Lugo's salary for the rest of the year....can you imagine having Hanley back...would improve our infield and batting lineup

You know the funny thing is that was Theo Epstein's and the Red Sox' original idea . . . trade Hanley Ramirez for a big name pitcher in Beckett (no one knew Mike Lowell was MVP material) and when Ramirez' contract was up and the Marlins couldn't afford a multi year deal the Sox would resign him.

Big market versus small market. I think all sports should be run like the NFL . . . for this reason.

Pudge is a rental for the Yanks.....he's gonna be asking for BIG $$$ for his final contract (multi-year) next year. That's why the Tigs shipped him. So we were able to get SOMETHING for him rather than letting him walk for nothing. And our bullie NEEDS the help big time!!
Tigs rallied from 8-1 down last night to win 14-12 in 13 innings. Still hanging by a thread!

Farnsworth is a rental too. He will ask for big money as well even though he just aint that good. Relievers are at a premium right now. You have Inge . . . Yankees now have Marte. Rental for a rental.

That doesn't surprise me....I almost said that. I believe he's just a stop-gap guy for '08. Is his contract up after this season?

Yankee Stadium, the old or the new, isn't in Manny's old neighborhood.

It isn't even in the same borough. Manny grew up in Washington Heights way up on the west side of Manhattan. Yankee Stadium is in the Bronx, across the river from Harlem.

Trade of Griffey to White Sox requires his approval

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3512365

If Ken Griffey Jr. gives the thumbs-up, he could be potentially thrust into a pennant race before the week is out.

ccording to FOXSports.com, the Cincinnati Reds have agreed to trade Griffey to the Chicago White Sox pending the outfielder's approval. As a player with 10 years of service in the majors and five with the same club, Griffey has the right to block any deal.

yeah because Griffey's presence was so magical out in Cinci. I am sure alot of teams would love a .245 hitter . . .

The end result is benching a .213 hitter (Paul Konerko), so it actually is an improvement...

(Nick Swisher would move to first base, Konerko to the bench, and he and Thome would probably become a very expensive, underperforming platoon at DH)
